Godzilla #1 Posted June 22, 2005 (edited) Shameless off-topic-ish (LOTS of 2600 here!) plug. Most of the people I chat with here at Atari Age are in this forum, so I felt it at least understandable being here. The wife wants to have a baby, so I'm selling my room! http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewI...item=8200687288 I'm still dizzy/slightly nauseuos, but there it is, for all the world to see... My lifes dream of running my own 2600 store, for sale ... I have to go... Edited June 22, 2005 by Godzilla
classicgamingguy #2 Posted June 22, 2005 Jeesh...well, I'm sorry that you have to do this...it looks like you have a wonderful collection. And I probably would have bought from your store..too bad you're not selling anything individually, as that trackball for the 5200 I want.. Anyway, if you need a shoulder to cry on, we're all here for yah. Steve
keilbaca #3 Posted June 22, 2005 That sucks that you had to get rid of your big sexy's... I feel your pain as I recently just sold my rarest games... Well, good luck with the baby!
Lord Helmet #4 Posted June 22, 2005 Jeez...are you keeping anything?
Godzilla #5 Posted June 22, 2005 Yea, that room is all the inventory I had been building up to start my own store with, but obviously failed in the execution of said goal. So now I must part with it. But I still have my personal Big Sexy :-) Can't take away a man's big sexy!
pinball22 #6 Posted June 22, 2005 But I still have my personal Big Sexy :-) Can't take away a man's big sexy! 878829 Good, else the point of this would all be kind of lost.
Godzilla #7 Posted June 22, 2005 Anyway, if you need a shoulder to cry on, we're all here for yah. Steve 878762 time to walk alone on the boulevard of broken 'owning my own classic gaming store' dreams. Thanks. It's heavy, but I think it's a good trade of one dream for another. I've always wanted my own spawn, who will say to other children in the kindergarten, 'the atari 2600 pwns j00r lame psux10!'
classicgamingguy #8 Posted June 22, 2005 Awww. You're going to make me cry..stop it! Seriously, yeah, that's true. Although I have no children of my own, I helped raise one for many, many years. Ahh, it was great to help him get to be the derelict...........er.........achieving young man he is today! Steve
attendo #9 Posted June 22, 2005 LOL, you must keep at least an Atari for the baby to play with when he/she is older.
Chickybaby #10 Posted June 22, 2005 Oddly enough, we bid on your collection for the same reason you are selling it... We want to start a family and it would be a good stay-at-home buisness plus I'd be on bed rest for health reasons/conditions and it would probably take 9 months to organize, test and catalog everything, lol. Sadly, it will (hopefully for you anyway) most likely go way out of our affordability range at the moment. But, ya never know. At least we got the first bid in and it felt good for a moment. jsoper #11 Posted June 22, 2005 (edited) Some of that stuff like the intv boxed Diner might do well if it was auctioned by itself. Edited June 22, 2005 by jsoper
keilbaca #12 Posted June 23, 2005 He knew that if he sold everything single, he'll be making at least 3x more money. But at this point, its not money that counts, its getting it out of there.
the 5th ghost #13 Posted June 23, 2005 Is it me, or is that a Darth Vader collector's case in there?
Godzilla #14 Posted June 23, 2005 yes. Also, you can see the hilts of some of my claymore collection, gathered from various highland games. And the auction text notes that the Vader case (which still has all my childhood star wars figures in it,) and the Claymore's are not included :-)
yuppicide #15 Posted June 23, 2005 Pretty sweet deal that you're selling a "a room in your house". When I win the auction I'm gonna chop the room off and bring it to the city landfill. The games though I'll keep.

I've dropped $150 at Costco a couple times now for formula and diapers Edited June 23, 2005 by jsoper
Godzilla #17 Posted June 25, 2005 Just a note to let you know I will be adding stuff as I remember/come across it, at the bottom of the auction page. Thanks!
thegamezmaster #18 Posted June 26, 2005 Sorry to hear about having to get rid of all that stuff. I know how you feel, I had to do the same thing and regretted it ever since.
Brockton #19 Posted June 26, 2005 Gah, that sucks. Hope you get a good price for your stuff and you get that baby you want. ; )
Godzilla #20 Posted June 26, 2005 Well, I hope I don't regret it in the future :-) I still have 2600s for my kids to play with :-) Yea, the better the price I get on the auction, the less dog food I will have to feed my baby so bid high
SteveW #21 Posted June 26, 2005 I wonder how much you could have gotten for it all if you sold it to an already existing classic game store? Like Sean Kelly's store 4Jays.
sandmountainslim #22 Posted June 27, 2005 My wife is also in the "Babymania" stage I shall probably give in but unless I am hard against a wall the videogame stuff is off limits.
