Charlie_ #26 Posted February 23, 2002 The Coleco Smurf game has my favorite 2600 music. Charlie
ATARIPITBULL #27 Posted February 23, 2002 For me the one that won't leave my head when I think of songs from 2600 games is the Raiders of the lost ark them. (DAM, now its in my head again).
Adrian #28 Posted February 24, 2002 The music from Vanguard, when you pick up the energy pod that makes you invincible, is pretty catchy, even though it's ripped off from Queen's soundtrack to the movie Flash Gordan -- I think it's Vultan's Theme (Attack of the Hawk Men). I'd have to break out my old vinyl to check. But even though I haven't heard it in years, I can still hum it!
Mr_Atari #29 Posted February 25, 2002 I'd say my favorites are E.T., The Empire Strikes back (the force), Frogger, Kangaroo (intro), and Dig Dug's intro.
slapdash #30 Posted February 25, 2002 Whoops, guess I've never heard Jimi @ Monterey... Actually, the GC tune is "The Kill Floor", not "Killing Floor". Hmm, gotta get Moon Patrol out again I guess. Adrian -- is that tune ORIGINAL to Flash Gordon, or older? I can still hum it too...
Albert #31 Posted February 26, 2002 Without a doubt, Pitfall II easily takes the throne as the game whose music I would dub, "Catchiest 2600 Music". I remember being mermerized with it as a kid, awestruck with what they were able to make the 2600 do. Of course, this was before I had any knowledge of additional hardware being added to the cartridge. Another game whose music I will find myself humming is that from Mountain King. Of course, that's not original music, but it's still catchy. ..Al
