Mindfield #1 Posted June 26, 2005 http://cgi.ebay.ca/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewIt...me=STRK:MEWA:IT Still at a reasonable price for a "common" R10. I'd have bid but this is only a slightly better label than mine, and I can't justify the expense for a minor label upgrade.
holygrailvideogames.com #2 Posted June 26, 2005 The seller states that this is the U.S. version but also says the following: AS YOU KNOW THIS IS A RARE GAME....IT IS THE U.S. AND CANADAIN VERSION AND IS NOT ....PAL......IT ALSO DOES NOT ROLL ON YOUR TV SET....I HAVENT TESTED IT BUT I WAS IN TOUCH WITH THE PREVIOUS OWNER AND I JUST GOT THIS GAME MAYBE LESS THAN 2 WEEKS AGO AND HE STATED IT PLAYED JUST FINE He says that he has not tested it but that it doesn't roll. I am going to pass on this one.
bookpile #3 Posted June 26, 2005 .I HOPE THAT YOU CAN SEE THAT IT SAYS ATARI INC. 1983. AND IT ALSO HAS IT IN FRENCH ON THE GAME ALSO Wouldn't that make it a European Cart automatically?

And I must say, this auction went higher than I thought it would. I think I paid $80 for mine, but that was included in a lot with Spy Hunter, Mario Bros. and Frogger II. Rudolphy #5 Posted June 26, 2005 Its a PAL-Version, I would bet on it

Mindfield #7 Posted June 26, 2005 (edited) I dunno, looks identical to mine (which is definitely NTSC): Edited June 26, 2005 by Mindfield
Hendra #8 Posted June 26, 2005 (edited) This seller is too lazy to: 1. Turn the caps lock off 2. Test his expensive cart personally Edited June 26, 2005 by Hendra
Hendra #9 Posted June 26, 2005 (edited) And this is the PAL version. How rare is the PAL version? AA doesn't have the database for the PAL version. Edited June 26, 2005 by Hendra

Rudolphy #11 Posted June 26, 2005 This is my PAL-Version
Mindfield #12 Posted June 26, 2005 This is my PAL-Version 881299[/snapback] Looks like the PAL and NTSC labels are identical (except for the auction Hendra listed, which looks like a later-release gray label variation)
Rudolphy #13 Posted June 26, 2005 Yes, but your endlabel has no "P" on it! Mine has one!
Pipster #14 Posted June 26, 2005 (edited) I have 2 different PAL labelled Obelix carts. The first has a 'P' on the end label.... and the second doesn't.... Edited June 26, 2005 by Pipster
fmctm1sw #15 Posted June 27, 2005 I know this is day late and dollar short but I bought Rubik's Cube from this seller in the last few weeks. I don't think he is intentionally trying to mislead anyone. He emailed me about this game and this is the conversation: Him: Dear fmctm1sw, Hi.Thanks for the great feedback, i have the game.obelix listed, pretty hard to come by, plus never opened Atari 2600 manual.mint perfect, plus never opened paddles, same conditon. If you like to check them out feel free and thanks for the smooth transaction Me: Dear c_ya_wiley, Actually I did look at that a few days ago. It appears there's an Obelix that has a "P" or something on the end label. I just assumed this one didn't since there were no bids and I was sure someone already asked. If it does, I'd be very interested. Him: Hi.dont see a .p. anywhere on this game, just on the bottom where the name is......stamped into the black decal are the numbers......08 4 r........other than that just the copywright in french and english on main decal........Thanks Me: Ok, I think I get it. A “P” was put on the PAL version of the game. This is NTSC right? Him: Yes it is and it works fine doesnt roll on yout tv.....Thanks and good luck if you bid, i added more info on the game because i didnt notice that the flash washed out the pic, .so thanks again. ...After the auction was closed and relisted Me: I noticed the auction ended. What happened? Him: I relisted it, i noticed that the pic was washed out, so you cant add any pics once you had a bid. I have lots of questions about what the game said on the bottom , and because it was washed out you couldnt see it. So i took another pic and relisted it, this way no questions , plus i can understand everyones concern. So look at my auctions. Its still there.Good luck if you bid. Me: Ok, found it. Man, you really had 60 people watching that? That’s amazing. Good luck with it, I’m about out of paypal (ebay) funds. I’d only be able to plop down about $60 right now. You’ll at least double that probably. You a collector from way back? Him: im not sure if it will go that high, its funny sometimes things that you would think go high and then they dont, and other stuff, you shake your head and say, if i only knew i was going to get that much.Yeah ive ben colecting atari stuff from about 20 years ago. I got rid of a bunch of the harder games to come across with boxes and instructions, last year.Lots of people thought either i just had pictures of the games and really didnt have them , or that i might hva e stole them ,lol. Some people..Anyway, i wouldnt back off on the 60.00, im sure you know it all depends who is on here at the time, so good luck if you bid Summary: In the end I found him very courteous and forthcoming with info and I recommend him as a seller. He shipped to me when a lot of people won't (APO address). And on a related note, was I dead on with that price or what?
