Tyrannosaurus for the 2600?

Tyrannosaurus for the 2600? What the hell is this game. I found a copy of it the other day and can't seem to find any records of this game even mentioned. Can someone help out here?

Not yet but I should soon. Check this out though. It has a blue square on the front of the cart, right in the middle, with a picture of the beast (T-Rex) facing left and it simply says Tyrannosaurus in the top right. HUH? Someone needs to do some explaining. I haven't played it yet, my system is on the fritz. Where the heck do these wonderful toys come from?

Never hear before. Are you sure that this is for the Atari 2600 as other says.

 

For example: I have buy for month a game calls Frantic Freddy (never hear before too). The picture look the same as the pirated game Keystone Kapers (aka. Wachroboter jagt Jupy). So I have think this is an Atari 2600 game too. I have only wonder why the board is longer then normale. And it has not fit in the Atari 2600.

 

After a search to the web I have found out that this is maybe a Coleco Vision game. But I have no idea how rare it is and will it work? I have no Coleco Vision.

So what other systems besides Cleco have the same size carts as Atari? Unfortunatly my Atari isn't functioning right now. I'm working on it. I will scan the cart as soon as I can.

Its not an intelliviosn or coleco.. ruled them out. Im not much on computer carts.. It might be a commadore 64 cart, they look kinda like atari carts. Or it could be a TI cart, I THINK they look like atari carts.

Well, 7800 carts are the same size and as you said, ColecoVision carts are very close (in fact, I've won/bought/traded CV carts and gotten 2600 carts, and vice versa!). There really aren't any other systems I can think of that have similar style carts:

 

5200 - Much larger

Commodore 64 - Smaller

Atari 8-bit - Smaller still

Odyssey 2 - Close, probably closest after CV

Vic-20 - Carts are much wider

TI 99/4a - Carts are wider and not as deep

Intellivision - Much smaller

 

That's it for the more common classic systems. Could always be a cartridge for something else, though, there certainly are enough cartridge-based systems that have come out over the years. I bet it's just a pirate 2600 cart. I look forward to seeing a scan or picture.

More information: the number on the front is cx-2613 maybe that will help. I can't figure this one out. Although it is the exact same dimensions as a 2600 cart. Weird huh?

This is the number from the Atari 2600 game Adventure. So maybe someone has overlable it with a FAKE Lable???

Maybe it is a pirate of some sort. The person played the game prior to giving it a new name. Rhindle shows up in the game and the guy thinks...What is that a dinosaur? I'll name this Tyranosaurus...Of course if this WERE how it happened...The name of the game would probably be "Duck!!" also it seems weird that a pirate cart would have the Atari cx-# on it.

OK, now I honestly think this is a copy of adventure and someone just stuck a stupid sticker on it. What a pile of crap. Sorry to get everyone worked up over this. I though maybe I was onto something here. I will post further detail, but I believe this is a hoax. And since I found the stupid thing that's what I'm going by.

Very funny. I just read that string of comments on good ol Mike R. I hope he sees it and writes in to defend himself. As for this entire string of nonsence about the T-REX game for the Atari 2600. My Atari is fixed and it is indeed a copy of Adventure. Some foolish carpenter stuck a dumb sticker on it. So everyone should note. THIS IS NOT REAL, IT IS A COPY OF ADVENTURE. FALSE ALARM FALSE ALARM! SORRY EVERYONE.
