sku_u #2 Posted June 28, 2005 How about being more specific about what happened? It also helps to specify 2 port or 4 port.
l3ushwig #3 Posted June 28, 2005 Ok... I was testing out games I went through about 30 or so and I shut it off normally to switch games I put the other game in and pressed the power button and nothing came on the screen it was just the normal black and white fuzz. My 5200 is a 2 port. I think it may be the power button seeing how I was pushing it on and off, I am not sure.
sku_u #4 Posted June 28, 2005 What game was it? Was it just this game, or everything that is giving you this problem?
l3ushwig #5 Posted June 28, 2005 Yes its every game now... Also I see no Red light indicating that it is on.

If you have a voltmeter you can test the suspect one too. Mitch

I've had to replace several of them in the past. Mitch
l3ushwig #10 Posted June 28, 2005 Is there any special way to open them up? And Is the fuse a common one to? Thanks -l3ushwig
elliott #11 Posted June 28, 2005 Just a common glass fuse that is soldered in. I don't remember the value off the top of my head, but I think it is pretty common. The only way I was able to get into my power supply was with a hammer. Also DO NOT just replace the fuse with a jumper, it is ok to test one like that, but remember the fuse is there for a reason. +Mitch #12 Posted June 28, 2005 One of the 5200 power supply models has screws the other is glued shut. If you have a glued one you will probably have to use a hammer. When I opened one like that I put the power supply on it's side between a couple of old 2x4s and hit the 2x4. That way you won't damage the case as badly. l3ushwig #13 Posted June 28, 2005 Yeah it took me a hammer a screwdriver. Then when I was done seeing how I messed the case up so bad I used a solder iron to melt it back together. On the next one I do ill have to be more careful. Thanks for you help Mitch and Elliott l3ushwig
