Orbatrak Coin-Op

 

Pick up only in CA but so far the bidding is only at $24 for a coin-op.

 

Looks pretty cool, it's got a trakball so it can't be all bad

 

EDIT: there's a bunch of coin-ops for pickup in CA including an Atari Hard Drivin' for $31 at the moment.

Maybe someone should inform someone in CA who's on the MAME team. Orbatak is on the MAME most wanted ROMs list, and there's precious little info on the game. The only significant piece I could find was an old article from 1995 -- the game's release date:

 

ALG Kills Coin-Ops Division

n a recent announcement, American Laser Games announced that they are pulling out of the arcade coin-op business and focusing exclusively on their home PC CD-Rom and console platform development. Never fear though ALG will have a limited arcade presence do to licensing of their software titles to other companies. One such title will be a 3-D virtual reality version of the game Orbatak which will be released by Kaiser Electro-Optics (developers of the Virtual Odyssey system).

 

There's also this flyer from the arcade flyer database. Rather interestingly, it appears to be little more than a 3DO FZ-1 with some auxiliary hardware for controls and video output.
