iguana #1 Posted March 4, 2002 That is too bad, RS Tennis is an excellent game. I only have my one though. Good luck.
Scott Stilphen #2 Posted March 4, 2002 No PAL markings at all?? That label style of carts usually have a small "p" on the side/end label.
+johnnywc #3 Posted March 4, 2002 Scott - No - there's nothing on the cart that suggests it's PAL. The copyright on the cart is 1988 - not sure if Atari stopped using the 'P' insignia for PAL games by then... Oh well...
Doc4 #4 Posted March 5, 2002 This is completely insane. I just got back from the game store with a copy of RS Tennis. Normally I don't buy sports games but I really wanted to buy Atari stuff today. So I popped in my game and got the same effect. Silver label, rolling screen RS Tennis on the end label but when I checked the cart scan here at Atariage I found out it says RS Tennis on the front too. Mine only says TENNIS in all caps on the front. No other marks make this a noticable PAL cart. The bottom reads (1988 ATARI CORP. ALL RIGHTS RESERVED 2680) What gives, I actually thought the game might be broken for a minute. Quite the coincidence.
+johnnywc #5 Posted March 5, 2002 Monster - That is exactly what mine says: Just TENNIS on the front. It also doesn't have the "Use with Joystick Controller" on it, and it's © Atari Corp., not Atari Games. Very weird...
Scooterb23 #6 Posted March 5, 2002 I have one just like that as well. I have to go check the one I just bought last week, I have a bad feeling about it...
+johnnywc #7 Posted March 5, 2002 Hello everyone - I just went to play a game of RS Tennis that I received in a "lot" of games on eBay and much to my dismay I discovered it's a PAL cart!! I get the scrolling screen/blue tennis court thing, making it unplayable... My concern is that I looked at the cart and there are no discerning marks on the label that clue you in that it's PAL until you play it!! My question is: does anyone have an NTSC RS Tennis in decent shape that they would like to trade for a PAL RS Tennis in great shape? Oh - and I also have a text label "Brain Games" in PAL if anyone wants to trade... Thanks...
MoonlightKnight #8 Posted March 5, 2002 I recently bought a copy of Gas Hog that, unfortunately, was also PAL. I was so upset because I paid over $40 for it. I also have a Solaris cart that is PAL. The previous owner opened it up (obvious because they went THROUGH the label to get at the screw,)he obviously though he got a bad cart and passed it along. Good thing I only paid $1 for that one! Anyone want to trade PAL for NTSC? You know what I've got.
Doc4 #9 Posted March 6, 2002 I guess were never to know how these PAL games made it too the USA but one things for sure I'm getting me a TV with a Verticle hold switch on it. And woodgrain at that, to match the Atari.
