eBay FINALLY Does Something About Feedback

Recommended Posts

Well, if someone never ships an item and never leaves feedback for the people who pay, he'll never get a neg.

An easy way to resolve that issue is to make feedback invisible only for a short period of time (2 weeks to a month).

My policy is to try to communicate with the seller. You can usually chat via email, and if that fails, a $5 long distance phone card allows you to call them.

Shipping should take no more than 3 weeks from the end of the auction. That's assuming payment is sent via money order. A week to get payment, a day or two to clear the bank, and a wekk to ship (if that).

Upon item receipt, I leave feedback.

I've called the person twice whom I bought my 7800 from. Email isn't working, so I use the phone and that makes good communication very easy.

My money order has cleared their bank and the 7800 was shipped yesterday. If it was shipped via priority mail, it will arrive this week.

Another phone call will let them know I have recieved it. Ordinarily, I would use ebay's built in email.

Because feedback is most often frivolous, or related to uninformed eBayers who don't try to resolve problems for one reason or another, they are making it harder to leave feedback without engaging an automated resolution system.

I appreciate the change because most often, I have problems with people not getting emails or not checking them or not responding. My all of 2 negs have been removed because neither buyer had consistent communications.

I leave feedback after they do. If people expect something that they didn't get, likely from not reading the auction or looking closely at the pictures, the first response is to neg. eBay newbs expect sellers to have everything in perfect shape, and they have unrealistic expectations, despite auctions clearly describing otherwise. I think that making it harder to neg will improve the system.

My advice to all sellers in the US: Delivery Confirmation.

Actually, I think that eBay should report two sets of feedback ratios:

Percentage of negative received

Percentage of negative left

I would be happy to ban all buyers with greater than 25% neg/neutrals left. They are chronically dissatisfied and no matter what I do, they may not be happy.
