Spider Fighter and a whole bunch of games

Recommended Posts

I was playing Spider Fighter just now, and my score was 226,470. It's a hard game to play! And well programmed! What was your highest score on Spider Fighter? I got a bunch of new games: Spider Fighter, Demon Attack, Breakout, Galaxian, Frogger, Skiing, Journey escape, Warlords, Frankenstein's monster, Chopper Command, Dragonfire, Venture(coleco), Mrs. Pac-Man, Wizard of Wor, Tron Deadly Discs, and Stampede. I got them all for $75.00! All of these games are awesome!!!!!!!!

Lemme get this straight?! You paid $75 for 16 games?! That's a real ripoff. I wouldn't have paid more than $25. Maybe $30 if you figure each game is about $2 each.

Yeah man. I don't want to threadcrap, but you shouldnt have paid more that $20 for that lot of games. Where the hell did you get them? Seems like you even would have done better on eBay.

Well, i think i got a great deal. Its from a video game store that sells classic games and consoles that go way back to oddysee and intellivision. And thats where i got my 2600 for $45.00. And they have alot of atari games that are in good condition. Ebay, thats a ripoff!!!! Before i got this atari from this store, i went on ebay and won a bid for $55.00. So, i sent a check to the person, and he said he did not get the check. So, i sent him another check for $55.00 and he said he sent the atari, but i never recieved it!!!! I kept on calling this guy and no answer!!! I finally emailed him and he said the atari came back to him and he can refund me, i said yes please. I never recieved the atari or the refund. So, he basically ripped me off. ebay stinks!!!!! you can't trust anyone on there. So, one day i went looking for a 2600, and i found a gaming store called game zone, and it's only 4 miles from me!!! The amount i paid for these games maybe alot, but atleast i go what paid for. I'd rather pay $75.00 for 16 games, than to go on ebay and win a bid and send two checks and recieve nothing. And these games are in good condition.

My persoanl best on Spider Fighter is 900,000

As long as you're happy with what you bought, that's all that matters

Think of it this way, had you went back in time and bought all the same stuff, you'd have paid many times more than what you paid.

Ditto for me! 900,000 is my high score too. Yeah, and that's not even factoring in for inflation. Let's say all those games cost $30 each back in 1983. Inflation averages about 4% per year. So, $30 in 1983 dollers is equal to approx. $56 in 2005 money. If you look at it like that, it's really a bargain.

I wish you many hours of enjoyment for the games. All in the lot are great fun!

Really? That is freaky!

Enjoy the Atari. I know how great it was to reaquaint myself with the Atari over 10 years ago, I know the feeling.

Hey, if you're ever looking for more games, check the Marketplace Forum. You can find great deals there. Personally, I have quite a few boxed games and loose carts cheap already posted there :) .

510,990. I'm confident I could have maxed it, but I just didn't have the time and stamina to do it.

As ghost said, check the marketplace forums here on AA for great deals from good traders.

I didn't totally mean to shit on your parade. You got a bunch of cool stuff. I personally wouldn't have paid that much. But I do understand how if you buy them from a local video game store they're more money, but that's good you supported them. Personally I'd have just waited and got this:

http://www.atariage.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=72708

75 games + atari for $130

As for the person who says eBay is a rip-off and you never got your refund. That's partially your fault. All you have to do is file a complaint with eBay and provide proof you paid for the item and they will do something about it. I've bought many things on eBay with no problem.

I've been buying from eBay for quite a while, and I've never had any trouble with anyone on there. (Mostly I use Paypal instead of sending a check, but still). A few sellers took a while before sending me the merchandise, and one item arrived broken, but other than that, no problems.

Mostly I've been getting handheld games (with Bandai Packri Monster for $1, including shipping, being my best score) rather than Atari carts, though I'm keeping my eye out on a good deal on a Colecovision (I had to give away my ADAM computer when I moved from Philadelphia to Atlanta, but I kept the carts, and I want to play them again) :)
