Which came first?

Hello everyone -

 

I'm making a database of all 2600 games (as I'm sure many of us have) and had a few questions about "what came first". The reason is that I want to designate which games are orginal releases and which are clones or re-releases (i.e. Defender II was a re-release of the original Stargate).

 

So, which came first?

 

BASIC MATH or FUN WITH NUMBERS?

PELE'S SOCCER or CHAMPIONSHIP SOCCER?

HUNT & SCORE or CONCENTRATION?

SUPER BREAKOUT (sears) or SUPER BREAKOUT (atari)?

 

Also, do Atari release Concentration as "Hunt & Score", "Concentration" and "A Game of Concentration"?

Well I do know that "Championship soccer" was before "Pele's" and I think "Basic Math" came first as well. I don't know about the other two.

i think the pele term was first used in europe being a big soccer hero of the 70ies here, and then was also adapted for usa.

also here i think, fun with number was for the euro-market as a word-by word translation of basic math sound strange in french or german, more like your worst hour in school ....

also here this seems a modification towards the german strict market. hunt & score just sounded probably too agressive to them.

 

if the games were different from each other and you wouldn't know any of them: what would you buy for your kid? do you want him to hunt and score or play a game of concentration? you see, the example just works too well with the titles

 

 

also we should maybe remark that actually sears brought out their 6-switcherhalf a year before atari brought out the actual classic ...

(but as far as i know, only on the canadian market, right or wrong?)
