SwedenLynxer #1 Posted July 15, 2005 What do you think about this? I think it looks like a nice collection and a game I definetly gonna buy! http://www.namco.com/games/namcomuseum50/
sku_u #2 Posted July 15, 2005 Looking at the list alone, I'm extremely disappointed. Why call it Namco 50th Anniversary, then? They'll just be rehashing the same titles they rereleased with the PS1 sets. It needs to include much more than that to peak my interest.
Mindfield #3 Posted July 15, 2005 They've added a whole two new games: Sky Kid and Rolling Thunder. You'd think they could have added just a tad more than that to make it even remotely interesting. But they're just re-releasing the same damn collecting with all of two new titles to pique interest. Meh.
Vic George 2K3 #4 Posted July 15, 2005 Oh good -- Pac-Man done graphically right for a change and not squished to fit some Pac-Manesque arcade panel frame. Same also goes for Ms. Pac-Man.
pinball22 #5 Posted July 15, 2005 Why couldn't they at least put all the games from the 5 PSX collections on there? I'd definitely buy it then, since I don't have all of them. I might still get it to play Rolling Thunder and Dragon Spirit, but it's really disappointing as collections go.
Lauren Tyler #6 Posted July 15, 2005 I saw the preview, and it seems that the music and a few sounds are in a slightly higher pitch than normal. Hopefully they can fix that before the game is released. Also, I didn't hear any music in Rolling Thunder, but I'm hoping it was just a bug or something. +FujiSkunk #7 Posted July 15, 2005 More corporate trickery, and darn it, I'm gonna fall for it. No Super Pac-Man or Gaplus means I'll be keeping the PS1 discs. No arrangements means I'll be keeping the original PS2 disc. And Rolling Thunder means I'll be buying this disc. Oh well, here's hoping the emulation has improved. The screen shots look promising. ferrarimanf355 #9 Posted July 18, 2005 Even though I might buy this for Rolling Thunder, I too am dissapointed in Namco's constant recycling. Where's Baraduke? Wonder Momo? Valkyrie No Desnetsu? Heck, there's going to be space left over, so where's Ridge Racer, Cyber Sled, Starblade, Tekken 1, etc... ?

The game is best described as Mighty Morphin' Jailbait Rangers, with its underaged hero spending equal time beating up Putty Patrollers and flashing her panties. As for Starblade and the first three Tekken games, all of those are included in Tekken 5 for the Playstation 2. JR
Flojomojo #12 Posted July 19, 2005 Just tried Wonder Momo in MAME, yeah, nothing to get worked up over, but I too would like to see some more quantity and variety in the Namco collections. The original Museum discs are almost 10 years old now but have yet to be topped for content and depth. Why they haven't been put into one volume and rereleased instead of the dribs and drabs is beyond me.

Crimefighter #15 Posted July 19, 2005 So where's the games from the late 50s early 60s on here? The Midway Classics series did a better job than this.
ferrarimanf355 #16 Posted July 19, 2005 I also would have liked Splatterhouse to be on the collection, but considering how finicky the ESRB is, I don't blame Namco for leaving it off...
Tanukitsune #17 Posted July 20, 2005 Is it me or are retro collections getting worse and worse? Will it at least have the museum like the PS1 version did? Since Europe never got the PS2 version, we won't get this...
Room 34 #18 Posted July 20, 2005 (edited) Namco wasn't producing video games for all 50 years... what did they do before? ... Anyway... I'll probably grab the 'Cube version... only because I'm ASSUMING this one won't be TERRIBLE like the original Namco Museum for the 'Cube. At least don't FORCE me to look at that hideously rendered bezel art... please!! Edited July 20, 2005 by Room
JB #19 Posted July 20, 2005 Namco wasn't producing video games for all 50 years... what did they do before? http://www.system16.com/namco/history.html Like so many, they began with mechanical coin-op machines.

ferrarimanf355 #22 Posted August 5, 2005 If this article is accurate, then Galaga '88 can be added to the list of games. I love that game...
raindog #23 Posted August 5, 2005 Of course, the article says the beta they played had no Pole Position, but the article includes a prominent screenshot of Pole Position. I won't get the GBA version, but I'll probably get the Gamecube one. I'm hoping someone gets a MAME going on the DS before long

sega saturn x #25 Posted August 7, 2005 Even with galaga 88 the collection feels weak to me. But i guess for people who don't have a turbo grafx it will be well worth the 20$.
