Shannon #101 Posted November 6, 2005 It's really a shame because what is so annoying about these collections is that they set the bare with the namco collections on the PS1, and have been releasing nothing near the quality (in presentation). The 1st collection for the modern consoles was just plain pitiful. Which is ridiculous given the power of the consoles. I think the best thing they've done since then was the PSP release which really is nice, but not worth my $40. I'm still waiting for the price to drop. But with all the effort other companies are putting into collections they are making Namco look bad. The megaman collection is pretty cool, and even the metalslug 4 & 5 set had more effort put into it.
Atariboy #102 Posted November 6, 2005 It shipped for 20 bucks in the U.S. when it was released here. Are you in Canada or somewhere else?
Artlover #103 Posted November 6, 2005 Wasn't impressed with it, pretty much like every other compilation set I've seen for any console. Selection of games leaves something to be desired, as well as the number of selections. Is it just me or does it keep getting smaller. Played Pole Position. Don't recall seeing any cigerette billboards like the original arcade version, again. I realize this isn't really their fault, but the fault of all the stupid f'in laws that exist with regards to advertising. But it still pisses me off. All I can say is I'm glad I got mame. liquid_sky #105 Posted November 7, 2005 You might have gotten it mixed up with the Tecmo collection, it sells for 30 dollars.

We'll probably never see that one again outside of MAME. Every NAMCO museum we're going to get from here on out will be the original Namco Japanese version. They'll be faithful to the original, just not what we're used to.
Jess Ragan #107 Posted November 7, 2005 Honestly, I don't mind that. I'd rather see ads for Dig Dug than Marlboro cigarettes. JR
JimmydelaKopin #108 Posted November 8, 2005 This is probably the last thing I'll have to say on this subject--stop it. I can hear you cheering. None of that. This latest Namco disc can rightly be called the "gold watch" disc. Supposedly Namco has been around for 50 something-or-others...but all we get are a handful of their highlights. It's like being with a copmpany for 50 years and getting only a gold watch for recognition...hence, this is the "gold watch" disc. Dammit, I wanted something better than a gold watch!!!
