Mindfield #1 Posted July 16, 2005 How long do you wait befor you relist an unpaid item ?
scuffy1 #2 Posted July 16, 2005 Depends on what it is and how much money. I usually wait till I get my fees back and the loser non paying bidder gets a strike then refile. If you relist before that they could still pay and you dont get your fees back.

Mindfield #4 Posted July 16, 2005 Well, I ask because I have a buyer who's now over two weeks overdue (item ended on 24th of June, and payment is due within 5 days). All of my auctions state that contact is expected within 3 days and payment by PayPal is due in 5. I recieved neither contact nor complaint despite E-Mailing the person numerous times and sending three of four invoices -- the only time I recieved any contact from the buyer is several days after I filed a NPB with eBay, and that contact was the buyer responding to the dispute to explain things. Her explaination? I'm so sorry. I've been trying to get my paypal set up. With the holiday its taking longer. I'm waiting for the confirming of the account. My new credit card is getting processed too. Thank you for your patience. I hoped this would be faster than sending you a money order. Thank you. My response: I thank you for getting back to me, but the terms of my auction stipulate that buyers must contact me within 3 days of auction end to let me know they intend on paying, and that payment is required within 5 days of auction end. I only accept PayPal for my auctions, also as per the terms of my auction (all of which is detailed in the auction listing itself). I would have appreciated some contact, or a response to the repeated invoices or numerous E-Mails I had sent post-auction. It took 11 days for her to respond to that, and now she says: I'm so sorry.I only got 1 msg that came on 7-4. I'm used to getting msgs in my email & I guess now that they have the msgs within ebay they don't come to email now? I'm not sure. I'm new to this & obviously I messed up bad.I bought this & then tried to set up paypal.I can send you the msgs from paypal proving I set it up but something's went wrong with the routing code & it won't verify the bank account. I pd off visa today & by Mon it s/b ok to pay you if you still want to do biz w/ me. Thank (No, I didn't cut her message off; it simply ended with "Thank") Now she sounds contrite enough, but there's just so much that's off here:\ 1) Fine, it's possible she may have entered a wrong E-Mail in her eBay account, thus preventing her from recieving E-Mails from eBay, and since she did not have a PayPal account at the time, my automatic PayPal invoicing wouldn't have had anyone to send the invoice to. Even so -- let's face it. It's a PayPal only auction, but I like to leave the option of money orders open if I'm contacted first and if the buyer has sufficient feedback to be trustworthy and if I actually need the cash. Most of the time I don't though, especially because it would cost me money to cash a US money order, and I'd prefer to have the money in my PayPal account as it'll just be recycled anyway. But I don't want to cut out the possibility entirely, so I don't use the "PayPal account required" restriction. So, strike 1: She didn't read the auction properly to notice that I only accept PayPal. (Does anyone?) 2) She won auctions prior to mine that only accepted PayPal as well. And she paid for them, too -- her feedback reflects that, so this lack of a PayPal account sounds like it may just me a cockamame story anyway. 3) She took 11 days to answer my last NPB complaint exchange. That's just inexcusable -- I'm quite understanding as long as I'm kept in the loop. This wasn't even a loop -- more like a dangling string. Really, I don't want to deal with her. This is more hassle than a $20 item is worth, and I've already paid off my seller account so I'm really thinking of just cutting my losses and not selling to her. Would this be against any of PayPal or eBay's rules given how long it's been now and her excuses?

This is member to member forum and very often your question will be answered within an hour. Edited July 16, 2005 by Hendra
