Question about 2 specific 7800 boards

Recommended Posts

Hi!

I have two boards I would like to put eproms in:

a 7800 Pokey Cart Revision A and a C300595 Revision A

Now, For the Pokey Cart there is a spot at U2 for what looks like a hex inverter. I've tried to follow the traces, and it looks like all I have to do is put the inverter in there and it will accept the eprom? Am I correct on this? And will the pokey still work?

The 595 is an odd looking cart... It's got a hex inverter in the middle and two other chips on either side. This one looks like I have to reroute some traces in order to get the ability to use an eprom... Anyone have any clues?

Thanks in addvance for you help!

For the Pokey board, yes that extra spot is for a 74LS04, just remember to remove the jumper W3 when you install the inverter.

The C300595 is a 128K supercart board and is probably more trouble than it's worth.

I've been working on various cart board schematics lately, and I have done the '595, but I haven't done either Pokey cart yet (I've traced out the Commando board, but haven't had the time to make up a schematic).

You can find my '595 schematic here:

Hey Bruce, you do know that Dan Boris traced out schematics for pretty much all of the 7800 cart boards, right? http://atarihq.com/danb/7800cart/a7800cart.shtml
