Cobra Commander #1 Posted July 19, 2005 Does any one have an Atari set up for on the road play? I thougt of mounting one and a small TV under the dash and on top of the tranny tunnel of the ole Dodge pickup to play at work during lunch and such. I'm not much into portables, I always lose em'. I had a little B&W television that ran on 12v, and the VCS also worked fine on 12v. I was popular in the parking lot after school... Even the non-geeky folks thought it was cool
cuda_man #4 Posted July 19, 2005 I've pondered doing something like that one of these days, one of my goals in life is to build an Atari-themed Kustom car I've got some ideals in my head, one of these days I'd like to start putting them together. atarilovesyou #5 Posted July 19, 2005 ...anybody remember that old episode of Knight Rider where Michael was playing Pac Man in K.I.T.T., and used that cheesy little red-voice box as the screen?...the car's driving itself (of course*) and Michael's holding the old CX-40 and playing a game!...I thought it would be a dream come true...I think that may have been the same episode where the computer nerd hacker "took over" KITT and used an Atari joystick to drive it!!!...that was a joke!... ..anybody remember that? Vic George 2K3 #6 Posted July 19, 2005 To atarilovesyou: yes, I do remember that episode. Michael Knight was playing Atari 5200/8-bit computer Pac-Man, and then K.I.T.T. gets hacked, and his guts end up being inside a portable TV for the duration of the episode. keilbaca #7 Posted July 19, 2005 If I had a car, I guarentee you one would be in there. But, I don't, so I have one inside of my computer.
TuzenTCA #8 Posted July 19, 2005 I often thought of putting one in my Suburban. I wanted to do it all nice now, with a 7800 or Sixer all pristine and such mounted in the lower console or in the dash as there is alot of room in there arond the AC-Heat lines. And maybe put a flip down Alpine screen, but that would require mods or adapters, and I don't have time for many projects and throwing money into toys has already proved to be very costly even though I don't spend that much on classic stuff anymore. Great idea though, good luck to anyone who wants to try it. --James
