MattyXB #3 Posted March 8, 2002 A link would be great. Wow this was fast. Here a bit info: Some Ebay auctions are Fakes at the moment, because Digitpress has make a contest for the weireds ebay auction. This is one of the Fakes. I find it stupid, you must pay for every auction on ebay. And you can't bid in the moment on such stupid things. And if someone bid who don't know this, thats very bad for him. jahfish #4 Posted March 8, 2002 haha, that's moycon's try .... but watch my auction soon .... i'll rock! [ 03-08-2002: Message edited by: jahfish ]
moycon #5 Posted March 8, 2002 Yeah its kinda stupid, But I figured "what the hell" I try to make mine so that no one will bid on them. Check the note at the bottom of the auction. If someone does bid I will ask them to re-read the auction and if they wanna pay for it...I'll send them exactly whats stated. A non-working, label-less atari cart!!! With $25 shipping! And they have to pay cash! I left myself alot of outs.
jahfish #6 Posted March 8, 2002 i have one in mind, and allready the scan for it .... you'll love it!!! it's the exact opposite: an item i have here with nothing faked, yet so silly and stupid to bid on, that i am very curious too see the reactions ... in 2-3 hours i'll post it ... greetings fish

MattyXB #8 Posted March 8, 2002 Can't wait to see your auction Jah Fish. Maybe I will bid on it.
jahfish #9 Posted March 8, 2002 what a lot of people did not understand that you have to actually sell the item .... so people come up with pretty stupid things .... the one DP started themselves is not too bad, with the original centipede muschrooms .... not a bad idea, but not really good either .... too unrealistic ... jahfish #10 Posted March 8, 2002 btw, nowadays people should look on ebay for joysticks ... (to moycon)
StanJr #11 Posted March 9, 2002 Yeah, its funny and all, but evil-bay for better or worse is a place of business, where ordinary people come looking to buy stuff. An unsuspecting person could see this and make an honest mistake. You should make some kind of disclaimer that it is not a real auction. This is great for all the people in on the joke. Not so good for those outside the joke. Its a little irresponsible of the sponsors of this contest. Wet Blanket Stan
tomyou #12 Posted March 9, 2002 I'd say a pretty humorous ad for those in on the loop also. Everyone should be careful as an unsuspecting bidder or someone who isn't in on the joke or has no sense of humor Could potentialy cause a stink and get one narued. I give it a 8.7 moycon. Stella'sGhost #13 Posted March 9, 2002 I thought it was a real cart, until I recognized moycons name and the cucumbers?....good one!
tomyou #14 Posted March 9, 2002 Hey lets bid it up to about $250,000. Just kidding I don't think the fees for that one would be very funny !
Curt Vendel #15 Posted March 9, 2002 Wow.... thats gotta be the holey'ist of Grail games.... the elusive "Mustards Revenge"!!! You have to guide Mustard to the Maury Amsterdam sandwich and get his revenge before the pickles attack !!! Got rave reviews in the 1971 Electric Gaming Monthly ahem.... Now back to our regularly scheduled program... Curt

moycon #17 Posted March 9, 2002 Here's the joystick Fish was talking about. JOY-STICK I think this ones the funniest. I hope it wins. I may put one more on. To Stan. I did include a note at the bottom on all the auctions in big letters that states exactly what the person will receive if he wins the auction. That and the fact that at the top of the auction I clearly state to read the item description carefully... I dont think anyone will be able to mistake this for being real.... At least I hope not! StanJr #18 Posted March 9, 2002 Good for you moycon. I would just hate to see some unsuspecting dope or little kid or something get duped by a goofy in-joke contest that is conducted in a very public forum. Kinda like if I set up a lemonade stand on the sidewalk with a big sign LEMONADE 10 CENTS, then when the people come up I hand them an empty cup. AtariDude #19 Posted March 9, 2002 Isn't there a potential problem where someone could get upset with a fake auction and give a negative response? Don't too many negative responses suspend someone's selling ability? I haven't looked at any of the fake ads yet but I was wondering what sort of problems you might create with running a fake ad. There is enough problems with people worrying about fraud to start something like this.
jahfish #20 Posted March 9, 2002 still people talk about fake auctions... i think the point is still to make a weird auction with something you could potentially sell no matter how stupid it is, as long as it's something you can sell and is what you described in the text. just like .... mine
Malix #21 Posted March 9, 2002 If that is your funny ebay item for sale I cannot find it for the life of me. A link would help.
StanJr #22 Posted March 9, 2002 Yes and yours is pretty darn funny too. At least yours cannot be easily confused with something real at a glance. By the way, no "Buy it now" option?
moycon #23 Posted March 9, 2002 quote: Originally posted by AtariDude: Isn't there a potential problem where someone could get upset with a fake auction and give a negative response? Don't too many negative responses suspend someone's selling ability? I don't see how I could make it clearer that the auction is a gag. Heres the note (Note is in bold letters and is colored)from the bottom of one...Keeping in mind that at the begining of the auction in big red letters it say to read the entire description before placing a bid: NOTE: The cart stopped working shortly after I took the pictures, and the rest of the label peeled off the next day. So if you bid and win the auction you will be receiving a non-working, label-less, slightly smelly Atari cart. Deal of a lifetime hu!!???? I mean I clearly state what they'll recieve if they do bid. Its not really a fake auction. I have every intention of sending what I told them I would on all the auctions I posted. If there's a problem at the end of the auction I'd have to say it would be the bidders fault 100%...Dont you think?
Big Player #24 Posted March 9, 2002 I don't know. eBay is becoming a big dipshit magnet much like America Online. I know of one seller who received negative feedback for repeatedly e-mailing the auction winner for her mailing address. The winner's never responded because "That is private information, you are a stalker." I hope that no one with that level of intelligence bids on your auction. zanza #25 Posted March 9, 2002 Come on all of you....even if english is not my language, I understand really well that Moycon sells is just a bunch of crap. If people are so stupid for not reading an auction well before bidding, they deserves their treatment. And if some kids are allowed by their parents to bid on anything they want, they can also buy in real shops what they want with their parent's cash ? So if anybody bid on it , donkey he is and he'll receive what it deserves, period
