+Propane13 #1 Posted July 26, 2005 Ok; this title exists on the Flashback 2-- any idea where it came from? I did some searching that came up nil; perhaps a better searcher can redirect me to the right thread / post. Anyway, for the "non-release" games that are on the Flashback 2, where do they come from? Rob Mitchell #3 Posted July 26, 2005 (edited) by Atari for the arcade: I think that he is asking for where the ROM on the flashback 2 came from .. I want to know about the gameplay too. I hope it is not from the Starship game .. where you move LRUD and "land" on a moving :piece of cheese." This version predates the 1979 arcade version. I have played the arcade version in 1980. I'm not sure why a striped playfield would have to flicker at 30Hz when there's only one other object on screen (maybe two side-by-side players, but still...) If the ground were drawn with vector-style graphics, I could understand the flicker (since object limitations might make it difficult to draw the entire planet's surface nicely using sprites, though I would think it would be doable while leaving both players available to draw the ship). krupkaj #5 Posted July 27, 2005 BTW Does this Lunar Lander use paddle for engine controll? I like the big analogue lever on coin-op
Ferris #6 Posted July 27, 2005 Lunar Lander was a property from Atari Coin-Op that never made it home. Obviously Curt's team at the new "Atari" took it upon themselves to program a few new titles for the FB2, Lunar Lander being one of them. So where did it come from? Atari. That's my take anyway.
