You'll get rid of some commons, get something you need, and they'll have more to sell. I don't know, I'd be somewhat skeptical that this would work too often. You'd think that if they had anything worth trading for that people would have already bought those games and they'd end up with a bunch of commons no one in his or her right mind would pay $5 or more for. But if it's worked for you, I need to keep some commons in my car just for that purpose. ..Al
King Asmo #27 Posted March 12, 2002 It doesn't work all that often.. I find it works more often with garage sales people than flea market vendors. It does work from time to time.. The key is looking at their selection of games and see what commons they don't have, and offer those ones. Most flea market types already have a dozen or more Combats and Asteroids.. so they won't take those. Occasionally, tho you can trade them slightly less common carts like Raiders of the Lost Ark or Towering Inferno, and they'll go for it. I think the key to dealing with flea market people is not to let on that you know a lot.. if they think you're an expert, they'll assume you're trying to rip them off and they won't deal with you. If you act stupid, they'll usually deal, coz they're trying to rip *you* off.. however, coz most flea vendors are ignorant about their product, what might seem lop-sided in their favor to them is actually a great deal for you. Like say, trading Kaboom, Decathlon and 2 copies of Missile Command for their SW Waterworld. KA
Nateo #28 Posted March 14, 2002 Ooo. Kind of reminds me of the time someone tried to sell me their Pong standalone for $450 whoppin' clams and $30 for a Beamrider cartridge. That guy had no clue.
