Help Needed with Half Life 2

Recommended Posts

:x

I purchased Half-Life 2, and I had to go online, to create an account and enter my serial

number and for it to download updates.

So far, the game took me over 3 hours to install, but I got it going and all, and works well, trouble is I have to be online to just to play the game.

Theres a box, called OFFLINE Mode, and when I click on that, it comes with error, such as could not connect to...

This really bothers me having to go online just to play an offline game.

I do believe it can be played offline, and should be played offline, but how...

Any ideas ? :?

I finally fixed it somehow, I can play now offline, I've never come across a game so painful to install like that.

Trouble is now, my game just keep crashing or locking up every times it auto-saves, this is completely preventing any fun for this game.

I can't find a way to turn auto-save off.

Right now i've just given up, some error engine.dll and closes if I try running it in a window to try to solve the problem.

The game runs very smooth, hardly any lag at all, I might not been getting all the speical affects because of the graphics card, just crashing every time I try to save or it the game automatically saves. :ponder:
