Scott Stilphen #1 Posted March 15, 2002 It's not based on the game (damn), but it still sounds interesting.

ubersaurus #4 Posted March 15, 2002 Solaris is the name of a 1960s/70s movie based ona SUPERB book by Stanislaw Lem, I believe his name was. It delves into truly what is "alive", and to the madness of men's desires. That's my take on it anyway, it was a great time killer on that airplane when I took a trip on Minnesota. slapdash #5 Posted March 15, 2002 Yeah, the book's a trip... I haven't managed to see the original movie yet though.
Adrian #6 Posted March 16, 2002 The original Solaris is a classic Russian sci-fi film. Steven Soderbergh is directing the re-make, so if his recent track record is any indication, it should be great.
Albert #7 Posted March 16, 2002 I'll have to see if I can hunt down a copy of the book, sounds interesting. I made the mistake of trying to search for "Solaris" on amazon.com, though, forgetting that Solaris is an operating system. ..Al

Thomas Jentzsch #9 Posted March 20, 2002 quote: Originally posted by Scorpio: Does anyone know the author of the book? It's still Stanislav Lem. A great book and the original russian movie is very fastidious. I hope Steven Soderbergh doesn't have to make to many "Hollywood Compromises".

ubersaurus #11 Posted March 20, 2002 Indeed, its too good to get compromised into a flashy bloodfest. Not that its completely clean ;p
