ziggystar #1 Posted August 15, 2005 How rare is an Atari 830 modem? I just got one, along with some CX85 number pads, they must not be too rare. Also I got an Orange Basic XL by OSS cart, 3 basic computing language carts, and 2 assembler editor carts. Any values to these? thanks!
+davidcalgary29 #2 Posted August 15, 2005 Basic XL is probably worth about $10; its value doubles with the manual. The rest of your items are quite common. I don't think that the 830 would command a very high price, given the fact that it had an extensive production run. I haven't had a phone that had a handset that could be used with that modem for years!

Hmm, I also got a 410 and 1010 tape drive, a xep80 and a 850 module with cables. Any of those things worth anything? thanks!

The XEP80 is "semi-uncommon", but almost worthless without AtariWriter 80 or one of the few 3rd party WPs that were written to take advantage of the system. I place its value at around $15 CIB. Your 850 might be useful for future hardware projects, but is otherwise too cumbersome for everyday use. ICD made a lot of parallel/serial interfaces for the A8s, and they tend to fetch better prices. Most Atari tape drives are very common and have little value at the present time.
