+pboland
I know, I know... just can't give out too much right now, heck the hardware wont even exist in proto form till about Jan-Feb, so we're getting a little ahead of things, but I think everyone is on the right track and I think you'll be pleased with some of the solutions to some age old previous console shortcomings that will be put into the new design on the next console, and this will be a console and not a TV plug and play, this unit will actually come with its games off-board on a card, which means that "More Games, More Fun" certainly will be the slogan to go with on the next Flashback. Curt How I wish it was still a go.
Curt Vendel
I was asked to review the product and correct some things with it, it is already done, there were some issues with audio and actual games installed that needed to be addressed, because it was 99% done when I was brought it, certain things will be addressed with later release revisions. Again, can't say very much and this is about all I can say. I will be contacting several reviewers so that they can receive review units to examine.... Curt Don't ask anything else, I can't say anything as I'm under a very tight NDA. Are you involved with this Flashback 3, then? Or does that information fall under the NDA too? =|
Asaki
Ah. Well that's cool that you get a lot more input this time, as opposed to those Basic Fun keychains >_<

garyd97
We can all hope that one of the later release revisions will contain an SD card slot. Curt Vendel
No, it will not, later revs will address game corrections and changes recommended... no hardware changes or SD slot. Maybe if they do an FB4, but not in the FB3. As for my recommending/not recommending... I can't make any comments, instead reviewers have been contacted, they will get review units and publish reviews for people to read and decide on their purchase or not of the product, but its not my place. Curt Curt, was it Atari or AtGames who asked you to review it? It doesn't seem like it should be Atari, since they're just the licensor in this case, yet it also doesn't seem like it should be AtGames, since their track record with Genesis plug-n-plays doesn't show much interest in correcting obvious bugs. onmode-ky
TrekkiELO
This Flashback 3 is basically Atari: 80 Classic Games in One minus the arcade game versions, making it 60 2600 games by Atari on a plug and play system.

But other paddle games are still included, ones easier for joystick control and you're correct about the keyboard/touchpad issue, I knew that was why those were not on there. Curt Vendel
You Mean this? Shown to Atari back in 2006-2007??? A good friend and I are working on something, hopefully for the spring - it WONT be Atari branded, but it will be a portable and will be 2600/7800... Curt Vendel
This is running on an emulator, this is not real hardware. It does however work with paddle controllers for paddle games that are included on the console which by default map to the included joysticks. And took away... garyd97
This will be awesome. Being Atari branded isn't as big a deal to me as the AV out and SD slot. You Mean this? I hope the Harmony Cartridge will work with it. I also hope it will have a volume control and a place to plug in earphones. If so, I'll find a way to buy one as soon as they are available and being shipped out.
Curt Vendel
Since it would have a FAT16 compatible SD Card slot and no cartridge slot, no the Harmony would not work with it. It will take up less room without a cartridge sticking out of it. My Harmony cart can stay safe at home in my Atari 2600.

HammR25
Hopefully that portable has been changed to add a second button since there are 7800 games that require it. It would be even more awesome if it could do 7800XM games as well.
