Flojomojo #1 Posted August 19, 2005 Just thinking about this old company, wondering where they went. If you visit http://www.exidy.com/ you will get a nice surprise, but not much information.
Atari-Jess #2 Posted August 19, 2005 I have one of these, its sitting with its keys strewn across the room.
joeybastard #3 Posted August 19, 2005 Either that's a very large computer or that's a very small man.
Lauren Tyler #4 Posted August 19, 2005 I never knew Exidy actually tried to get into the computer business! Who owns the rights to their games, like Chiller, Venture, and Mouse Trap?
cimerians #5 Posted August 19, 2005 They made some cool offbeat games. Chiller was completely weird and I think they banded that game. Venture and Crossbow were my favs.
Atari-Jess #6 Posted August 19, 2005 the sorcerer 2 is HUGE. It is the heaviest retro-puter I own and everything about it screams giant.
Lauren Tyler #7 Posted August 19, 2005 Don't know if Chiller was banned, but I do know that they did have their Death Race game banned.
Crimefighter #8 Posted August 19, 2005 Most arcades wouldn't carry Chiller, thats it.
mos6507 #9 Posted August 19, 2005 And also Death Race, of course. When you read the Sorcerer specs it really doesn't seem like a machine developed by a game company. Just black and white character graphics (albeit high res) and no built-in sound.
Flojomojo #10 Posted August 23, 2005 So no one knows who holds their intellectual property? Mmmmmmmmmmmm .... Winky

+DamonicFury #12 Posted August 23, 2005 It would be really great if some of these older game manufacturers would make their IP available in some form or other. StarRoms has been in business for something like 2 years now, and only Atari (Infogrammes) has made their Roms available for sale on it. Why not Exidy, Cinematronics, Universal, etc? Even a CD-Rom package similar to Namco's, Midway's, or Atari's would be nice. (Yeah, I know it's easy to find ROMS 'out there' but I really would like to see as many arcade games as possible get a proper modern release.)
Tempest #13 Posted August 23, 2005 So no one knows who holds their intellectual property? Mmmmmmmmmmmm .... Winky 916617[/snapback] Funny, we were discussing this at dinner at the show the other day. We *think* it might be Williams, but no one is really sure. I have someone looking into tit. Tempest
