justclaws #3 Posted August 20, 2005 Hello, Organisation of Euro Jag Fest 2005 just started. The location will be the same of the 2004 festival and the date will be 12th november 2005. I can't 100% say I'll be there, but I can't see any reason why not yet. Anybody else from Zuid Holland going, or anybody else on the route? I'd be more than happy to do a car share with somebody, I'll drive it. I'll have to do some serious programming again to make it worthwhile. Still, this year, work is steady, home is happy, and no more babies yet, and you've not chosen a date which clashes with any other family event! Cheers, JustClaws. Tyrant #4 Posted August 22, 2005 I'd like to attend, but I'll have to wait and see for now, depends if I have work and thus money at the time.
justclaws #5 Posted September 11, 2005 (edited) Hello Lars, Organisation of Euro Jag Fest 2005 just started. The location will be the same of the 2004 festival and the date will be 12th november 2005. Any update on this?I intend to attend, although transport is not yet something I'm sure of having. I just sold my Dutch car, and my Jap MPV may still be in the UK at that time... If I do have my MPV, it's going to cost me a fortune in diesel, at these prices! It's approx. 240 KM each way, so 480 KM for the round trip... I'm saving now! Could anybody suggest a local Gasthoff to the €-Jagfest this year, for few €'s, and does somebody fancy car-sharing, I asked this before but had no takers... If I can't attend, is there an NL event this year we can add an 2nd €-Jagfest to? Finally, Lars, the banner ad you have still says "€-Jagfest 2004", not 2005... Cheers, JustClaws. Starcat #6 Posted September 12, 2005 Hi! I don't really have any news yet. Most important infos are on the site already (date, location), things like maps and so on will come later I guess. I'll ask Björn about hotels or similar locations where one could stay over night if they want to. Btw, if you mean the banner on www.atari-jaguar64.de then you are right. The site is really outdated. There also isn't a new banner yet, but that will probably come soon. Regards, Lars.

Matthias #10 Posted September 13, 2005 Hi Richard! TOO bad! :'-( That event was run by Sijmen (www.mr-atari.com) who is doing the dutch translations for my games, he also frequents the sunday-chat (17:00- our time). I think he said that there were about 30 vendors and 150 visitors (but it was not Atari-exclusive of course). What about EuroCon05, you going to that, it's the Ruhr Valley, Bochum?http://www.gamereset.de/eurocon2005/ Cheers, JustClaws. 929938 No, sorry, i am a couch-potato Regards Matthias

T2KFREEKER #15 Posted November 11, 2005 Dude, this really sucks! I live in California, no way of making it to the Jagfest! Why can't I ever have any of these shows close to where I live? Damn, are there going to be any classic shows this year in CA? Anyway, have fun and clue us in as to how awesome it is.
Gaztee #16 Posted November 13, 2005 Any news Guys?? Or are you all still hung over Gaztee
PeterG #17 Posted November 13, 2005 Any news Guys?? Or are you all still hung over Gaztee 964574 Well since nobody else said anything yet I will make a start although I must admit that I am not the best person to do that for the following reasons: Arethius unfortunatley missed his plane so that made us 3 hours late plus the fact that we always get lost on the way although it's only a journey of half an hour. A shame but that's the way it is. Becomes a tradition :-) And then I had a handball match so I wasn't there from around 4 to 7pm. But ok let's move on to the interesting stuff. The location was the same like last year. It's a good place until the throw you out in the night but you get a nice meal and the room was good too. Matthias Domin showed Reversi and Connect them and it was great to see him again although this year I did not have to much time for the above reasons. Lars had his new game Jagmind Bombsquad for demonstration the whole day and also had a box full of them for sale. Broke as I am I missed out on that for now, but I must say that the games looked really nice. You guys probably know Matthias' games from his homepage with the fantastic looking duranik graphics. Lars game does not look THAT good but he still did a great job with some of the images. And Jagmind has a cool splitscreen twoplayer mode. LArs also showed a trailer for eerivale and a pretty basic but really good looking version for the pc. The graphics looked very good and it made me hungry for the finished version on the jag although it still might be a long time until then. Very promising nonetheless. Another pretty exciting fact was that one of the Eclipse Design developers was there. As I understood he was responsible for Lethal Excess on Atari ST and he is woking on another game. He mentioned interest in coding for the Jag so that could be some good news. Unfortunatley I didn't hear about that until he was already gone but Björn wanted to stay in contact with him so I am curious what will happen. Other than that there was a bunch of cool guys playing as always. One thing I noticed though was that there were less Jags then last year but a bigger variety of consoles. We had a dreamcast, a ps, ps2, virtualboy, nuon, a genesis, nes, psp, ds, vcsportable, Atari Falcon, ST and some 8 bitt stuff I can't remember....pretty intersting since I never played a Virtualboy before but I was really hard on my eyes so I did not last very long. The guys tried a BS network but had some problems because they tried to connect it via catbox and Jaglink. Unfortunatley I wasn't there at the time. Other than that Nick Harlow had some stuff up for sale as always but also wasn't there when I came back after the game. It's the first time I came around buying something off from him but as I said...no money. His shrinkwrapped Primalrage looked good but some said it would cost almost 200€ I did not ask Nick about it, but I thought that was pretty much for that game.....well I still don't have it. Mr. Atari and his wife also had some games and T-shirts up for sale. Well I can't really say how many people have been there since I surley missed some of them but as always it was a great event and it was nice to meet some of the guys again. Did I forget something? Yeah for sure......but maybe that's enough for a little overview. Oh and Matthias thanks again to your brother for wanting to borrow me his Pocket PC with gps so I can easily find the way. Didn't work but much appreciated. Peter
Starcat #18 Posted November 13, 2005 Hi! Peter summed most of it up already. I think everybody had a really great time. I surely did. I met a lot of great new people and got some nice new ideas for Eerievale and also got some great feedback. I had a new Eerievale trailer on display, which was also shown on the german Games Convention 2005, which caught a lot of interest. I showed a new Eerievale poster, which was very good in quality to my own surprise (better than I had expected, the company that printed it did an amazing job) and I later also had a little PC demo of Eerievale on display, sadly I forgot about that until late of the event, so some people probably missed it. But most you could do was exploring the game world (over 300 screens in this demo) and talk to a few characters and solve some minor puzzles. I had JagMIND finished for the event, after one of my JagCDs died on me the night before, but I got it finished nevertheless and it was played by the visitors all over the day. Other than that I also finally had the chance to play virtual boy. Really cool machine, too bad it wasn't successful and too bad many people get headaches with it. But still a great concept. I also enjoyed many other games that day, too many to remember every one and I had a great time talking to all the great people. Too bad I didn't realize there were Eclipse people around, I was later told about that and I even talked to him, without knowing it was him. Could have been a great chat, I'm sure. Anyway. After the event Björn myself, kingcar and CD-i from the nexgam forum continued the tradiotion of a little after-party meeting at his flat, where we all sat down to play a little bit again and talk and let the great day pass by in our minds again. Björn also let us take a look into his holy games chamber, where you find all the great systems and titles and where even the ceiling is shining in magic silverlight of a thousand CDs. Now that's a gamer's room. Reminds me of how much space I have left in my room at home, to be filled with systems and games. Oh,yes. It was a great day. I'm sorry for those who missed it. Regards, Lars.
