+kisrael #1 Posted August 23, 2005 So my first Wario game was "Wario Ware" (though I saw the guy in his GB premier, and a few other Mario games like Party and Tennis...damn, he really needs to be in the next Smash Bros) Anyway, loved Wario Ware, and I really liked it's vibe which was a nice change of pace, but when I borrowed a friend's more recent Wario game for GBA, I was almost disappointed to realize some of the vibe in Wario Ware wasn't a new part of the weirdness, a lot of the sound effects and kind of feel were from the platformer games originally. So I just got "Wario Ware Twisted" (I have the GC WW as well) and now I'm wondering, are the characters (like Jimmy and Spitz and all those) new for the Wario Ware series, or are they villians or playable characters in previous Wario titles>
sega saturn x #2 Posted August 23, 2005 I'm pretty sure they are new just for wario ware since i don't recall them being in any or warios other games.
Jess Ragan #3 Posted August 23, 2005 Yeah, those characters are brand new. You're right, though... the demented atmosphere of Wario Ware was taken from the later Wario Land games, particularly Wario Land 4 on the Game Boy Advance. You could see the origin of Wario Ware in Wario Land 4, which featured three bizarre mini-games. I think the Wario Ware games do a better job of establishing Wario as a character than any of his previous games. I was playing Wario Ware: Mega Party Games on my GameCube and had as much reading Wario's descriptions of each game as I was playing the games themselves.
