Does anyone have a surefire strategy for completing the "My hero!" boards which come up every time you finish two cage screens off?

 

I lose most of my lives on those stupid things.

Don't take your time and just jump up there as quickly as possible. That way there's less coconuts and stuff to deal with. You should finish that stage in a couple of seconds ideally.
