Greg Zumwalt #1 Posted August 24, 2005 This may have been covered already, and if so, appologies. I check in here every few weeks to get updates, check news, etc. I thought it strange that since March I've had almost no news from the Stella Biglist. I was even more shocked to see the level of posts here since last I checked. Coming here first, as I always do, I then proceeded over there to find out- 1. I am not alone in this 2. The Biglist is no longer archiving posts 3. The Biglist is deleting all attatchments This is very unfortunate. It also explains much, and there are many posts there by and for people advising to leave that forum and join here. I have mixed feelings on this, but wholey understand and want to extend my gratitude for this forum remaining as is.
mos6507 #2 Posted August 24, 2005 I am archiving Biglist. http://thedig.dyndns.org Right now my cable modem broke so if by the time you click that link it's not back up, wait until later. My opinion is that the AA Forums with a "mailing list bridge" would be the ideal replacement. But I am not universal in that opinion.
Thomas Jentzsch #3 Posted August 24, 2005 Stella Migration Update Greetings, Just wanted to give everyone a heads up on the progress being made to give the Stella list a new home. Adam Wozniak has setup Mailman to run on one of our AtariAge servers and the list is now up and running on that machine. Adam has also imported most of the existing Stella archive, including attachments. However, we are hoping to get an even more complete (and consistent) archive that we can put online soon. Thanks to Andrew Davie, the list will be hosted on the "atari2600.org" domain, and to post messages to the list you'll send them to "[email protected]". However, at this time I do not want to invite people to subscribe until we have the full import completed and have done additional testing. One thing the new list needs is a description of what the Atari 2600 Stella Programming List is. Presently, all I see is this, "This list was designed as as support group for Starpath CD owners and anyone else trying to write 2600 games or just to understand how they work. Since 1996, Stellalist has established itself as THE meeting place for the select few people around the globe who still understand the 2600 to congregate, share techniques, and learn from each other." I think it might be time to update this and am open to suggestions.
