+RangerG #1 Posted March 27, 2002 I bought an Atari 2600 y adaptor off Ebay from a guy that was getting rid of old computer supplies. He was selling it as a Colecovision y adaptor so that you could use an Atari joystick and the colecovison controller with the keypad. However, I remembered a discussion many months ago about being able to have joysticks and paddles hooked up at the same time if you had a y adaptor for the 2600. Well -- it works awesome. I have paddles and a joystick always ready. I just switch the cartridges and no need to mess with plugging and unplugging the joystick or paddles. Markimus of K. #2 Posted March 27, 2002 What kind of Y adaptor is it? I've just tried one that I've had kicking around for years with no use. I just tried it and it doesn't work. It seems to be just a straight 2 9-pin into one 9 pin. Markimus of K.
Markimus of K. #3 Posted March 28, 2002 Do you have a continuity checker? I just checked the contunuity between input and output pins on my unit and they do not match each others physical pin locations at all. Looks like the splitter I have is garbage. But let me know if the pins match on yours or not if possible. thanks, Markimus of K.
+RangerG #4 Posted March 28, 2002 It should work. That is exactly what I am using: two 9 pin connectors to one 9 pin connector.
