My EBay score Spy Hunter Boxed!

Recommended Posts

Wow I was super happy to win this boxed last week and really hoped it was in good shape since there was not a good picture of it. I have been looking for this for the last few years, Got it today and WOW its Near mint and it even had the joystick coupler in it. So I am thrilled. Plus I needed the Slot racers box and the frogger box was a weird variation now i have 4 different boxes for frogger.

And if you had just clicked the Link in the post you would have been able to see how much I won it for.

Sweet. That's only the second time I've ever seen a complete Spy Hunter with the couplers. If that were listed alone I'd bet it'd have gone higher than you won that entire lot for.

Interestingly (maybe), I have the coupler from the C-64 version, and 2 CX40s with the velcro on the bottom. I might even have the floppy around here somewhere, but I'm planning to get rid of most of my C-64 stuff. How hard is it to get a CIB Spy Hunter for the 2600 without the coupler?

The box is the hardest part to get, no questions there. There have only been a few on ebay in the last couple years. Whether they were all with or without the coupler I don't now.

I have found the Atari 8-bit version complete on ebay before, with coupler.

The C64 version included a couple too that I didn't know. Where Commodore 64 controllers shaped like cx40s? All the ones I've every owned were more narrow, and not of the same model as Atari. I guess since they are compatible it doesn't matter so much if you have Atari sticks handy, but if Commodore didn't release a mocked up cx40 of their own, that's kind of an odd edition to the box.

Yeah, Commodore made one stick for the VIC (and thus C64) that was almost identical, except it had a white top and the commodore name on it.

Was the coupler identical for all released verisons?
