Apparently is a 9-pin DIN; anyone know what system this was originally intended for?

A Sega Genesis may be it. Considering this because of the 6 button setup. I could be wrong though.

It has Select, Start, and some other button on the top though, plus what appear to be top-mounted shoulder buttons or something, which makes me think SNES or something, but... 9-pin DIN wasn't Nintendo's style.

Looks like it may have had interchangeable cords (has large plug in back). Has a,b,x,y,l,r buttons which means it may have been used for the SNES. On the top is Start, Select and Slow (probably rapid fire start button?) It has LEDS on certian buttons which leads me to believe it is programmable.

 

I may be totally off, but that is what I can see from the picture.

The SNES was my initial guess. The buttons colors are a dead give away.

Hi Everybody,

I am the seller. I won this item with an Atari 2600. Kind of neat using it as an arcade controller on the games. It works great with the Atari 2600 & 7800. It probably does belong with another system as it has slow and turbo controls, not to mention all the buttons on it. The plug in the back does disconnect and I guess you could plug in other plugs to use it for other systems. The plug goes into a 15 PIN connection in the back of the unit. If you want any other info please do ask. Thanks!
