is the first x-men game in the arcade the same one as in the genesis?

If you're asking if the first Genesis X-Men game is the same as the arcade game, it is not. The arcade version of X-Men from Konami has never been ported to a home console. Not to my knowledge, anyway. The only way you'll be able to play it is on the real machine or via emulation. Not a bad side scrolling beat-em' up, though!

 

Oh, and the Genesis game isn't great, but it's not bad by any means. I do prefer the sequel, X-Men 2: Clone Wars. It's one of the best on the Genesis in my opinion.

The arcade is made by Konami, the genesis is by sega. No, they are not the same game.

Oh, and the Genesis game isn't great, but it's not bad by any means.  I do prefer the sequel, X-Men 2: Clone Wars.  It's one of the best on the Genesis in my opinion.

 

X-Men Mutant Apocalypse for SNES, another side scrolling beat em up is better than either of the Genny games IMO. If you dig X-Men or beat em ups, it's one to seek out for sure

There was a craptastic X-men game on the NES. I think it was made by LJN which is the official seal of terrible games on the NES.

I do like the SNES game also. It's much more in the beat 'em up style than the Genesis games. I think I may like X-Men 2: Clone Wars on Genesis just a little more, though. And yeah, the NES X-Men game is one of the worst transitions from comics to video games. If not THE worst! Truly awful with no redeeming qualities.
