ApolloBoy #1 Posted September 1, 2005 Alright, I disabled the lockout chip in my NES months ago and so far it's been doing great. However, as I turn it on, it seems to repeatedly turn itself on and off until I push the power button in. Sometimes, when turned on, the screen goes black and the power indicator goes off. Would adding a ground wire to the lockout chip fix anything?
The_Collector #2 Posted September 1, 2005 Not having disabled the lockout chip on a NES I may be in the dark. It sounds like the 72 pin blinky screen problem, but like I said could be way off. Did you try cleaning the pin connectors?

Famicoman #4 Posted September 1, 2005 Probobly. I heard that the Ground wire is optional, but it might be what you need.
keilbaca #5 Posted September 1, 2005 You just have to cut pin 4 on the Nintendo marked chip, no ground needed. *plays Gradius 2 famicom cart*
