Does anyone have a spare system box?

Recommended Posts

Mine never came with one and I've been wanting one for a while for display purposes. I can send a few bucks for it and for the s/h.

WHAT?!?!!?

$13 bucks for a friggin box? Is that really what the Jaguar has come to?

Damn, I know I said this in a couple threads back... but I guess I'm lucky I got stuff when I did. I had some extra cash around the time that Atari cancelled the Jaguar and they were sold to JTS. Kay Bee Toys was blowing out their games at $5 for carts, and $7 for CDs... and you could buy an entire system for like $15 bucks. I bought duplicates of everything, and even bought like 10 systems. I gave some away to my friends at partys, and hell.. I dunno, I think I've got like 5 of them around my house somewhere.

I've kept all the original packaging and stuff... but damn, I can't BELIEVE how much some of this older stuff is going for now...

You know what it's like? I'm not old enough to really remember this, but this is probably sort of like how Muscle cars were back in the early 80s. Muscle cars... you know, like Pontiac GTOs, or a 69 Pontiac Firebird 400, or a Plymouth Duster, or an Olds 442... back in the early 80s, they were nothing more than just 11-12 year old cars. They were selling for next to nothing (even with inflation). I mean, you could pick up a beat up 1968 Pontiac Firebird 400 with RAM-AIR/2 intake and RA2 heads, with a 4-Speed, for around $600 bucks... people didn't care....

NOW... you can't even get a rusted frame to a 68 Firebird for $600 bucks. And one completely restored would cost you a cool 20 grand.

This is crazy!!!

Did you see the Virtual Boy box that went for $30 that I posted? It's what collecting is about. I want boxes for all my system but at this point $20 is about as much as I am willing to pay. Some are obviously willing to more than that and others just aren't into collecting so they aren't paying anything. I all balances out IMO. One example is I paid $50 for an N64 with 18 games no long ago. That would have cost me about $1,400 when the N64 was new. I paid $150 for my Jaguar on Ebay with 16 games and that was a pretty good deal too. I plan on getting new Gamecube later in the year new so it has the box and a bunch of cheap games. I see possible even further GC discounts after the 360 comes out.
