CaptainCaputo Posted September 6, 2005 Share Posted September 6, 2005 i bought an Nes at a yard sale for 2 bucks...i went home and tested it and the 72 pin is gone so im just gonna use it for parts but i looked underneath the chip and saw the expansion port which i imgaine was for the disk drive before it was scrapped..but my question is...is the port usable i know theres a piece of plastic covering it, is the plastic a covering or the part that never was? There was a post two or so years ago where someone made some sort of lottery system (as stupid as this sounds) for it. I also think there was a module made, the Teleplay, so you could play it online. Bruce Tomlin Posted September 7, 2005 Share Posted September 7, 2005 The NES expansion port also has ten lines brought down from the cartridge slot to the expansion port, which is why the NES carts are wider than Famicom carts. I think one cart is known to have one of these pins connected, but since basically nothing was made to use the slot, it was unused functionality.
