Wanted: Copy of Nintendogs for the DS

Recommended Posts

Hi, everyone:

Since I can't afford to buy a copy of Nintendogs right now, I was wondering if anyone was willing to trade for it. I have a few things for trade, an odd assortment so bear with me:

Star Trek Magazines, at least 20, all different issues

Computer games, varied assortment, all types (action, RPG, etc.)

Used Playstation 1 console, no accessories or controllers, with Diablo cover

Furbie, yes I said Furbie, no batteries but works at last check

I have other items, not necessarily game-related that I would be willing to trade for Nintendogs. Please let me know via PM if anything appeals enough to you to trade your copy to me. I really want this game, but our current financial slump has really left me in the poor house at the moment. :(

Edit. I also have some 1st edition Advanced Dungeons & Dragons books (Monster Manual, Player's Handbook, Dungeon Masters Guide, Fiend Folio, Dieties and Demigods before they edited them) if interested. All the books are in good shape and there's one that has a name in it, but the guy laminated the cover and back to keep it protected.

What annoys me is there's 3 versions of Nintendogs depending on what type of dog you want. Too bad they don't have Japanese Fighting Dogs or something I can train to fight.

That's why it's a video game and not real life.

Besides, different cultures around the world have different views on things. Dog-Fighting has been a popular sport in Japan since ancient times. Like Sumo-wrestling, it was an elaborate, ceremonial affair, a sport conducted mainly by the Samurais, and the fighters, especially the winners, were feted and accorded much prestige.

Not to start an argument here... but rape games don't fly as a video game either.

I don't think its accurate to think the dogs themselves think its honorable to fight, as they have been raised to rip flesh, and really have no personal thinking of their own, considering they have to rely on humans to care for them, and if they did, I doubt they would want to fight for this shitty "honor".

On another note, I sure hope you don't own dogs.

I understand that different cultures have different views, I happen to be very familiar with the idea. But you'll never make me agree that being cruel to animals for "Prestige" is a good thing to do. It is sick and cruel. I love my dog and think of it as part of my family. Thinking of my dog in a dog fight is like thinking of throwing my 3 year old niece in a ring with another 3 year old and telling them to kill each other.

Did nobody read what I said?! That's why it's a video game. I don't like dog fighting, I don't think it's right, but that doesn't make me not like it in a video game. You could say the same thing about a lot of games, but I still would enjoy them because they are a game.

I'd buy a cock fighting (rooster) game if they had one too. You'd train your "Little Jerry" to peck and bob and weave then got fight in the ring.

We've had dogs most of our lives. My Grandmother's last dog I taught it about 15 tricks.. the best one being I'd put a dog treat on it's nose. It would sit there until I gave the signal, then it would flip it in the air and catch it.

All three versions of the game are exactly the same.

The only difference is what three dogs you START with.

After you play for a bit, all the dogs from all the versions are available.
