+Omegamatrix #1 Posted September 14, 2005 I won an Intellivison off Ebay yesterday and picked it up today. I believe that the people who sold it to me where some of the nicest people I've ever met. They were in Calgary and when they saw that I was too they emailed me saying I shouldn't have to pay for shipping and asked me to phone them so that I could arrange to pick it up. How cool is that? I bought this Intellivision with the intention of passing it on to a friend for a birthday gift (I don't know when that is, but I imagine it's got to be sometime in the future ). Anyway I thought it was going cheap so I bought it, because he's into Intellivision. I'm really into Atari and Coleco, and had no plans to collect for anything else. Having a different system in my hands though I thought I'd give it a try. I'm liking it so far, and I'm wondering if maybe I should be greedy and just keep it for myself. Probably bad Karma. Anyway will someone please make me a list of the best games to play for it? I might try and pick up a few more titles. I'm only worried I'm going to like it to much and not want to give it away! The games I have now are: Pitfall! Venture Las Vegas Poker & Blackjack Astrosmash Space Hawk Royal Dealer Armor Battle Major League Baseball Star Strike Frog Bog Advanced Dungeons & Dragons Space Spartans B-17 Bomber Bomb Squad Lock 'n' Chase Horse Racing Auto Racing Tron Deadly Discs Sea Battle Donkey Kong Mission X I got the voice module too, but haven't tried it yet. Retro Archaeologist #2 Posted September 14, 2005 I would say you pretty much have most of the best ones for it already, good catch too RA

+Omegamatrix #5 Posted September 14, 2005 Thanks everyone for who replied so far. I've been playing the Intellivison a little today and I find most of the titles to be rather unique. So far Tron Deadly Discs is my favorite. Cool Game!
JB #6 Posted September 14, 2005 Get Microsurgeon!
Brad2600 #7 Posted September 14, 2005 Get Microsurgeon! 931206[/snapback] Why? It's good for collection purposes but for the love of god, I couldn't figure it out!

Lord Thag #10 Posted September 15, 2005 The somewhat rare thunder castle and diner, as well as tower of doom and treasure of tarmin are wonderful. Thunder castle is almost 7800/NES quality graphics. Wonderfull games. I'll second the vote on Microsurgeon, as well as most of the other intellivision only Imagic games. You'll get them nowhere else! Mark III #11 Posted September 15, 2005 (edited) Definately get Utopia and Shark! Shark!, two of my favorites. Also check out Beauty and the Beast, it's a pretty decent Donkey Kong Clone, but different enough to stand on its own. Intellivision is a great system to own, most of the best games can be found for cheap. Edited September 15, 2005 by Mark III

It's also on the 99/4a.
Lord Thag #13 Posted September 15, 2005 Microsurgeon's not INTV-only. It's also on the 99/4a. Really! I didn't know that. I have a TI-99 but have never been able to find any carts for it. I didn't even know Imagic made TI-99 games. What else did they make?

For what it's worth, I prefer the 4a version of Microsurgeon. Feels a little faster, and I like having all the information available on one screen without paging back and forth. If the view window scrolled instead of snapping from screen to screen, it'd be perfect. ... That and my INTV controllers are twitchy. jaybird3rd #15 Posted September 16, 2005 I'd say you've got a pretty good selection of games already. The only glaring omission that I see is Night Stalker, which is one of my favorites.
+Omegamatrix #16 Posted September 16, 2005 I had a little more time to play today. I tried the Voice Module unit and the games I have for it. Bomb Squad has some catchy music and the voices do add something to the game. I really like this title, but haven't gone deep into any of my games yet. Basically I'm making three piles: Games I like, Games that don't appeal to me, and Games that I'm going to have to play more to decide. I'm really horrible for reading instructions, and there's a lot of buttons on the controllers. On a side note I'm not sure whether Intellivison or Atari was the first system I ever played. Years later when I played The Legend of Zelda for the first time I thought to myself "I've played this game before on another system" but couldn't remember what it was. The spiders in Zelda were giving me deja vu. I'm now sure that I was confusing Zelda with one of the Dungeons & Dragons games on Intellivision. Are they all the D&D games on Intellivision pretty much the same graphic wise?
