Is this a sweet deal?

Recommended Posts

I just won this on Ebay...

For those who don't undestand Spanish it's Mega CD with a 32X with all the cables and stuff, and with 16 games...

Mega CD:

1. Sonic CD

2. Dune CD

3. Final Fight

4. Road Avenger

5. Time Gal

6. Fatal Fury Special

7. SoulStar

8. Ecco the Dolphin

9. ThunderHawk

10. Sega Classics Arcade Colection limited edition

11. Snatcher

12. Powermonger

32X:

1. Stellar Assault

2. Virtua Fighter

3. Doom

4. Vitua Racing DeLuxe

I must confess I've never spent this much on an auction, but I hope it was worth it...

I mean a Mega CD and 32 X cost 100€ seperately, and I know most of those games are worth quite a bit, specially Snatcher...

Unless these things are far more common in the US, I think $400US is way too much. Snatcher isn't worth much more than $50US, is it? The rest is $100 tops IMO. Then again, I'm thinking US items, which these clearly are not.

According to Wikipedia, the Mega CD cost 400$ in Europe originally and they only released 60-70.000 not to mention that Spain only got the Mega CD II...

I've been looking for these for a while and there is no way to get a Mega CD for less than 100€, the same goes for the 32X...

And their games usually go for 10€ each so in total:

-Mega CD 100€

-32 X 100€

-16 games X 10= 160€

---------------------------

Total: 360€

Any Europeans around to verify this?

I know that USA is the collector's paradise where everything is cheaper and less rare...

€346 works out at £230 which seems quite high. I expect most of it is because of Snatcher. Sonic CD and maybe Final Fight are also slightly more costly than most MCD games. The rest are fairly common. If there was a Mega Drive thrown in with a few games it might seem more of a bargain.

Either way, there are a good handfull of classics in there, so you will get lots of enjoyment. :)

Unless you were doing some heavy exercising, I don't think sweat would be involved. :)

Sorry, I couldn't resist!

:P

DOH! I fixed it...

By the way, I got it today, the deliver was super deluxo 24 hours express and apparently I got an extra game, either as a bonus or by error...

The "extra" game was Mickey Mania for Mega CD which I found in one of the Mega CD cases under a manual...

The problem is, I didn't expect such a speedy delivery and my Mega Drive isn't even here!
