Beige "Colecovision" controllers

I see a lot of Beige "Colecovision" controllers around. Are these all from Adam computers, or were some supplied with Colecovision game consoles?

Yes, they're ADAM controllers. The best controller I had was one I cobbled together from half a black CV stick and half a beige ADAM stick.

Yes, They are Adam controllers...They suck just as much.

The "biege" controllers were also ColecoVision pack-ins during the late years of the console when they apparently had a ton of them left and didn't want to make another run of black ones. So it was possible to get them with your brand new black ColecoVision. Also under their Archer brand name Radio Shack sold the beige ones in their stores. Which could also account for their abundance.

I completely agree. I either have or have seen a ColecoVision system box that has a little sign on the outside stating something about the controllers you receive may not be as pictured, or something along those lines. Obiviously referring to the black controllers that would have obiviously been on the cover of the box, thus matching the black console.

Someone had a supposedly new in box CV on ebay a year or two ago that contained one white & one black controller. I know I would have been pissed to receive that setup back in the day. This particular CV either had a sticker or some paper that mentioned the situation with controllers. I recall the seller taking a photo of it.

 

I do think alot of the white ones are a little better working than the black. Not sure why this is, but I seemed to have better luck out of the beige ones.
