Gunstar #2 Posted September 16, 2005 VERY cool. I want an original ST/Amiga one for use with my real ST. Those sticks ROCK!
Atari Smeghead #3 Posted September 16, 2005 "...and perfect for any kind of emulator in order to play C64 or Amiga games on the PC." AND ATARI!! WHY do we Atarians always get dissed?! Y'know, I had one (well, a knockoff, anyway) for my Atari computer and I didn't care for it all that much. I'm more of a Slik Stik/Star Fighter fan, so the handle was too big for my tastes. But I did like the click! Smeg
Heaven/TQA #4 Posted September 16, 2005 btw. are these sticks released in the states as well? or just germany at the moment?
Foebane #5 Posted September 16, 2005 Naah, I always preferred the Konix Speedking myself.
TMR #6 Posted September 16, 2005 btw. are these sticks released in the states as well? or just germany at the moment? 932442 [Looks at USB Comp Pro he got in January] Well, it's certainly not just in Germany, the next revision of Oldschool-Gaming.com will have a review myself and Paul have already written... that should be rolling live in the next week if all goes well. Actually, i'm surrounded by 'em right now; the C64DTV is shaped like a Comp Pro, i've got the USB one and a Zipstik connected to my C64!

TMR #8 Posted September 16, 2005 Jason, how good is the c64dtv? i just ordered my NTSC one here in germany... 932521 Depends which version you get; the original NTSC unit was okay but there are hardware inaccuracies in the VIC-II that were patched around in the games and a few other issues including it not dealing well with multi-loading which were rectified for PAL. From what i understand, the latest batch of NTSC units are based on the PAL V2 hardware, which is highly accurate for the video side of things (some default colours aren't balanced correctly, yellow and light green are too close to white in luminance) and about perfect for the CPU core to the point of supporting illegal opcodes and running some pretty vicious timing-precise stuff like Deus Ex Machina. The sound lacks filters (hardly surprising considering what else the ASIC at the heart of the unit is doing!) and doesn't seem to do ring modulation quite right but is pretty much spot on after that. Joe Stella #9 Posted September 22, 2005 (edited) btw. are these sticks released in the states as well? or just germany at the moment? 932442 Germany, mostly. There's a steady stream being sold on ebay.de, and barely any on ebay.com. Shame too for the American enthusiasts - the micro-switch version of those sticks are what all others should be measured by. Edit: I glossed over your original link - thought you were talking about the old sticks, not this new one, sorry.
