Take a look at this thread for all the glorious details. This seller appears to be putting up even more auctions now, so believability is being stretched even further.

To all with the same concerns about the auctions on ebay with the rare games and there boxes. I don't know or can not vouch for this person, but I did buy some games off him. I do have his number if anybody is interested. I did speak with the seller (Ryan) and I did ask how he came upon these games. His response was that his dad worked at store and bought alot of the games when they were closing them out.. I don't know if this is all true..Hopefully so as I have already paid for several of the auction including Quadrun. If you would like the phone number please send me a email.

Hello,

Please let us know if you actually receive any of this merchandise. Did you use a credit card via eBay to pay for these auctions? I can guarantee you one thing, that the items he depicted in the auctions are not what you paid for, as the pictures clearly were taken from AtariAge and Digital Press. Also, he told someone else who called him that the boxes pictured were his, which is clearly false. It also appears that this same seller may be involved with setting up similar high dollar auctions using Buy It Nows with other eBay accounts.

I suggest reading this entire thread if you have not already.

As for the "My dad worked at this store" line, I'm going to raise the BS flag on that, as Tooth Protectors was not sold in stores. It was only available as part of a mail order promotion. I would ask him what store his father worked at. And his father just happened to buy what would later become very rare games? Where are all the more common games that he also would have had many copies of?

If I were you, I would call him back and ask to see some images of the real items and tell him you are aware that the pictures for the auctions are not representative of what you bid on. I know how much Quadrun cost you, and hope you are able to get your money back if this turns sour.

I just posted his info on the Ebay auctions message board. I called this number and got an answering machine. The person on the machine was a woman, not named Kinman and she even repeated the phone number hesitantly like she forgot what number it was. I wonder if this number was just acquired as a fluke for frauding people with ebay.

I did ask him to send me a photo of all the games in one giant picture to prove. So far I haven't heard anything. I won Crazy Climber, but will be stopping payment on my check come morning, unless he can prove to me that he's legit. So far he's put on 3 Crazy Climbers. I of course was the 3rd one. Also, he goes by the name Buzz46, as someone stated on the other thread. Just click the email button and you'll see he's [email protected], the bug90 one is [email protected]

So if you're bidding on this guy's auctions, do so with no intention of paying. Good luck trying to get your money back.

Phil

So your eBay id is either atariwarlord or buyatari ?

You mentioned that you've already paid for "games" that you've bought but there is only one auction won by each of those 2 usernames (who also bid on Quadrun)...

I am probably just being overly suspicious...

Ahh, that's a good idea. Even if he doesn't have a digital camera, he could buy a cheap disposable camera, get the film developed in an hour and there are plenty of places that will scan photos for you and put them on a floppy or CD-ROM. If he has the games and wants to get paid for them, I can see no reason why he wouldn't go out of his way to make to make this "proof" available.

Yes, I buy some games, however I did not bid on them. I seen the auctions and sent him an email THAT IF ANYONE BACKS OUT I would be interested in some of the games. He responded that sevearl people backed out of the auction so he would let me have them.

Yes, tooth protectors was a mail away, but that was not one of the games I was inquiring about.

Yes, I did pay with a Credit Card so I am not to concerned as I am covered against fraud.

I have his number and have spoke with him several times today. I do have concerns about his honesty at this point. However speaking with him today, He seemed honest (not that it means alot at this point) as was very knowledgable on atari games aswell as someother lines..

I just want to amke a point that I am not defending this person. I know as much about hima as the rest of you. But innocient until proving guily...

I will follow up on the board regarding the games. if I do receive them I will be sure to post it here. If I don't receive "WELL" I will send a post aswell..

..

Ouch! You have my sympathy.

Hopefully this will get resolved soon for yourself and anyone else who has paid this guy.

For those who haven't been following the main thread regarding these auctions, it appears for certain now that these auctions are not legitimate. Apparently there has been a rash of account hijacking on eBay recently, where people steal established eBay accounts and then use them to post auctions with the intent to defraud people. There's more information in the thread linked above.
