Mindfield #1 Posted September 18, 2005 (edited) Got a classic Toshiba Satellite Pro 410CDT laptop available. It's a pretty old beast, but top end for its time. Speds: Intel Pentium 90 40MB EDO RAM (maxed out) Toshiba MK4006MAV 4.0GB 2.5" IDE HDD (upgraded from the original 810mb drive) Removable/swappable CD-ROM drive (4x) External drive enclosure with swappable 3.5" floppy disk 11.3" active matrix TFT display (a couple of stuck pixels only noticeable on dark screens is the only flaw in this otherwise very nice display); 0.28DP, 100:1 contrast ratio (min) 1mb Chips & Tech. CT65548 VESA localbus video (max. 800x600x16 fullscreen or 1024x768x8 virtual) ESS688 on-board audio (SB Pro compatible w/ OPL3 support) Stick-style pointing device (2-button) 1 serial, 1 parallel, 1 VGA port 1 PS/2 port (mouse/keyboard) 1 docking bay port 1 peripheral port (for external drive) 2x 16-bit PCMCIA ports (2x Type I/II or 1xType III) IrDA transceiver 3600mAh LiIon battery (still holds very good charge -- approx. 2+hrs under average load) LED panel display (power, charge, access, etc.) Internal speaker, volume control and headphone jack AC cable Weight: 7.8lbs (excluding external drive) Works great over a network as a server, or to use for E-Mail, web browsing, classic games, etc. Runs Win98SE very well; I even installed Firefox on it, but it's a little slower than IE when it comes to load times. (Seems to require more memory than IE) Or you could install a nice Linux distro. The laptop is in perfect working order except for a couple of stuck pixels in the dislpay mentioned above (hardly noticeable). There are no issues with the hard drive, CD or floppy, the battery still holds a very good charge. I ran this on my network with no problems. There is a small crack in a bit of the moulding below the keyboard on the left hand side, but it doesn't affect anything. (It's been glued so it's stable) Looking for US$75 plus shipping. Payment by PayPal strongly preferred. Any takers? Please No Thread Crapping Edited September 18, 2005 by Mindfield
