godsey1 #1 Posted April 9, 2002 Hi again, I was wondering if anyone can tell me why a loose BurgerTime cart would sell for $20.35 http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewI...item=1343907063 And my boxed still shrink wrapped BurgerTime sold for $11.00 shipped. http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewI...item=1343071875 Is there something that I'm not doing right? I need some advice, PLEASE!!!!!!!!!!!!!! [ 04-09-2002: Message edited by: godsey1 ]
Raccoon Lad #2 Posted April 9, 2002 Looks like some stupid first time bidders got in a bidding war, and didn't know there was a better one up for auction.
BIG EARL #3 Posted April 9, 2002 Well, I think there could be several reasons 1. The buyers want to play the game: The other auction states that the game works, yours states that the box is "SMASHED" and there is no way of knowing what condition the game is in. 2. your auction is for a sealed game which would interest collectors but a collector would want a box in better condition to pay a bigger amount of money than what you got. 3. The "high bidder" may be the person selling the item and decided that he didnt want to sell it or thought he would get more for it. those are some possible reasons but only the bidders would know for sure
Mountain King #4 Posted April 10, 2002 The first burgertime has Shill Bidder written all over it. I've caught a couple doing that with their own items.
CaliColts #5 Posted April 10, 2002 Just remember, you havent **SOLD** anything until you have the money in your hand on eBay.
Cassidy Nolen #6 Posted April 10, 2002 I still have a deadbeat on my heavy sixer auction from a month ago. I do not understand this phenomena either. One day, something sells for 10 bucks, next its 30. Strange. Of course, if you really do want something, you go a good ways to get it (think I went like 30 for a boxed Kaboom, only to have three sell the next month for half that!!) MattyXB #7 Posted April 10, 2002 Some maybe other reason. The other seller has sell to United States and Canada. You have only sell to United States. Maybe on the other auction some from Canada bid on it.
maximebeauvais #8 Posted April 11, 2002 bid wars: check the bid history, I think that I paid around 4.00 CAD for those 6 vic-20 games: my auction vic-20 the other guy was living in my town and he was ready to give me 20US for the carts if the winner will not pay for the auction. BUT i got the money from the winner!!!

Don't suppose you have a user ID for that person, do you? Maybe we both got stiffed by the same person.
