Cassidy Nolen #1 Posted April 12, 2002 Hello all, While I was rebuilding my Atari CX40's the other day, I had Combat on the system to test, because I knew it would show all the motions, except down. Now, just for giggles, I pushed it anyway (seeing how it was in my hand, and when both up and down are pressed, the tank gets a sort of turbo speed. Just a thought, but if you wanted to whomp your friends at the tank game, you could hack a dead joystick and add a down button somewhere on the bottom, so you had a turbo when he/she comes at you. Just a thought. Hey, its worth what you paid for it. Cassidy
Scott Stilphen #2 Posted April 12, 2002 You can do a lot more than that http://www.digitpress.com/eastereggs/26combat.htm
Mountain King #3 Posted April 12, 2002 Heh, I found that out a long time ago too. My first Atari was a reconditioned model as well at the controllers, so needless to say everything was weird. My Atari would also "fry" on its own. So my friends came over with their games just to see what my Atari would do to them.
Junie #4 Posted April 13, 2002 Thanks for the information, and congrats Cassidy on finding a secert on your own, even if other people already know it. (I didn't know either) I followed the link Scott gave (Thanks Scott) and found even more button presses. Does anyone know if pressing the various buttons also effects other games as well? Perhaps I should build myself a Turbo Combat controller, especially if it works with other games as well [ 04-12-2002: Message edited by: Junie ]
