Nintendo Penguin #1 Posted September 23, 2005 I am happy to annouce that an all new N64 website will be coming to the net on 12/1/2005. I have been quietly working on this since July and it has come along very well. The reason for the late Grand Opening date is to ensure that there is a lot of content up when the site goes live. I will keep everyone posted.
ClassicBoy #2 Posted September 23, 2005 Very Cool!! Keep us posted. I think the N64 deserves a site of it's own. What's the main focus of the site? Will you be reviewing/rating most of the games available for the system?
sega saturn x #3 Posted September 23, 2005 That's awesome news i love console specific sites. Makes me wish Dave would re-open sega-saturn.com.
+Cobra Kai #4 Posted September 23, 2005 Great news, one of my favorite systems! Looking forward to this.
Ze_ro #5 Posted September 24, 2005 What kind of content can we look forward to? Screenshots and reviews and stuff like that? Perhaps information about japanese stuff that never made it over here, like the 64DD? --Zero
Famicoman #6 Posted September 24, 2005 I hope,64DD will be covered. I'm looking for beta stuff, jap stuff, rare strange, and unreleased accesories. Not to mention a data base of all console/controller/cart colors.
nester #7 Posted September 27, 2005 Aww, I get all misty when I think of N64. It was truly unique and strange. I kinda think of it as the SMS of its day. However, it makes me feel old that there's websites dedicated to its memory now. Back in 96 my dad sold his truck to get one, now you can get games 3 for 10 dollars at game exchange. It's a strange world.
AtariAger #8 Posted September 27, 2005 What are the "top 5", N64 titles...in your opinion's? I have to try this system out...I went to Gamestop a few days ago and saw tons of 64 carts.
Flojomojo #9 Posted September 27, 2005 My top five would be: Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time Star Wars: Rogue Squadron F-Zero X Goldeneye 007 Super Mario 64 The first 3 all came out around the same time in late 1998, which was a great year for games IMHO. I would be quite happy on a desert isle for a long time with nothing but these 5 games. If I could choose a few more, they would be: Pilotwings 64 Blast Corps Wave Race San Francisco Rush Space Station Silicon Valley Tetrisphere If you want more reviews, I really liked the reviewers at www.ign64.com
Famicoman #10 Posted September 27, 2005 No order: Goldenye 007 F Zero-X Perfect Dark Destruction Derby Road Rash

I will definitely try those other titles...especially 007, heard that game was excellent.
Cobra Commander #12 Posted September 27, 2005 Doom 64 is great. I played for a couple hours yesterday.
vdub_bobby #13 Posted September 27, 2005 I know most folks disagree, but I like Zelda: Majora's Mask much more than Ocarina of Time. The world just seemed bigger and more interesting.
nester #14 Posted September 28, 2005 My favorate game for 64 has to be NOT Ocarina of Time!! (I really need to get over it)
+Omegamatrix #15 Posted September 28, 2005 In no particular order: Goldeneye Tetrisphere Rogue Squadron Shadows of the Empire Wave Race It took me six years on and off to finish Zelda Ocarina of Time. That game is huge. If you're going to play it then I recommend picking it up for the Gamecube instead. It came out on the Gamecube as a preorder disc for Wind Waker, and had two versions of the game included. One was the original game, and the other was the Master Quest. If you ever played Zelda as a kid then you can appreciate having a second quest. You might grow a beard finishing this one though.
shadow460 #16 Posted September 29, 2005 My top five (no particular order): Goldeneye Ocarina of Time wipEout 64 Star Wars Episode I Racer extreme-G I'd like to see a rarity guide on the site.
yuppicide #17 Posted September 30, 2005 The N64 was one of the crappiest systems ever. They're worth nothing.. maybe because they mass produced too many?! You can find them on eBay with a bunch of games for like $20.

I can understand not liking the system but saying they produced to many is just moronic. And most old consoles are only worth about 20$ now just not the n64. Zoop #19 Posted September 30, 2005 im rekindling the fun i had with my 64 lately since my Dreamcast recently died i hooked up my 64 back up. Been playing Yoshi's Story..Conker's Bad Fur Day ,and Kirby 64. I got spoiled playing the Xbox verison of Conker i'm stuck on the peeing part in Rock Solid its alot harder in the 64 verison. its a shame we never seen Earthbound 64 nor a Metroid 64. I think Metroid 64 could of used a really unique control scheme ,or at least i have an idea for one. is anything still being released for 64 in much of same way as jaguar and/or DC. Too bad it didnt have a little horse power under it like the Dreamcast did. I also discovered how bad some 64 games aged. Especially Gex 64 i use to love that game now its like ahhh the gameplay is awful ,and the camera is even worse.
video game addict #20 Posted September 30, 2005 Alot of these games seem so dated now. Goldeneye was probably my favorite, but it's out or similar on just about every system. Whether you are playing a newer version of 007 or Solid Snake or Agent 47 or whomever, it gets old. Multiplayer was cool, still is if you have friends over & working sticks, but I'd bet there are newer games out that can do that too. Doom, Unreal, Halo.. But still for it's time I loved Goldeneye. Mario 64 was great, I think it's better than Sunshine. I really got bored quick on Sunshine, even worse was Luigi's Mansion, was this one a real game or was I just dreaming? I think Mario 64 is a bit dated too, but I still would rather play it than the cube marios. Tetrisphere, this I had but for only a short while. If I ever pickup another N64 I will buy this game again. I like puzzlers & I've always loved Tetris, so this is an interesting variation of that. And not a crap spin-off like Hatris. I liked the Crusing games & Rush, any car game really. These have all been outdone on newer consoles though. Still fun to go back to. You have to make sure you get one with the expansion pak in it for some games. Perfect Dark is one that benefits from it. I liked the first Turok too, but that was years ago. Lots of cheap games for this one now though, no reason why you can find a system & pickup 20 or so decent titles for it on the cheap. Play it for awhile, and if it's not your thing just offer it in the market place here.
+kisrael #21 Posted September 30, 2005 im rekindling the fun i had with my 64 lately since my Dreamcast recently died i hooked up my 64 back up. Been playing Yoshi's Story..Conker's Bad Fur Day ,and Kirby 64. I got spoiled playing the Xbox verison of Conker i'm stuck on the peeing part in Rock Solid its alot harder in the 64 verison. I went back to the N64 version after beating Xbox, to do some comparisions... Are you using Z-targetting? It's almost impossible without that, since you can't walk n pee at the same time. Even with that, you have to line up things properly. Also, remember once you get the rock guy ball to the 2nd floor, he'll stay as a ball, you don't have to keep peeing and you can just treat him as a big dung ball. (On the xbox I didn't realize that, and tried to pee him all the way over past the dancers...not easy. In terms of top five...you could see my top 10 in the best of N64 list I posted previously...just chop off the last five I guess.
