Ico freezing on cutscene...

My copy of Ico reliabely freezes during or right after this cut scene, right when you get the reflector sattelite dish looking thing shining...is this a known issue or is it something that might be wrong with my disc in particular?

I've played ICO through a couple of times and do not recall it freezing at all.

Alrighty...I took it into the local indy gamestore, I'll have them try to resurface.

 

It froze earlier as well...or rather, the game didn't freeze but none of the non-directional buttons worked.

This used to happen to me during FF9 on my old PSX. The game would play fine until the second or third cutscene, and then freeze up. It wasn't the game though because it was brand new and spotless out of the package - it turned out the system had worn down so much over the years the drive mechanism couldn't spin the disc fast enough for cutscene playback.

The resurfacing seems to have fixed the issue...doesn't seem to be a problem with the hardware.

Got through it tonight!

 

I was bummed because I didn't realize the "2nd player controls Ico" doesn't apply to the American release.

 

Beautiful game in all.
