Goochman #1 Posted September 26, 2005 Folks, During the Centipede HSC it was noted that there is a 1981 copyright and 1982 version. Was the 1982 version the only officially released one on cart? Does anyone have a Centipede cart with a 1981 copyright? I need this info for Twin Galaxies tracking - we might have to wipe all scores since alot of folks seem to have the 1981 version on disk vs the 1982 one. carmel_andrews #2 Posted September 26, 2005 i thinx one of them might be the A5200 version that was converted (hacked) to the A8
Goochman #3 Posted September 26, 2005 My brown label cart has a 1982 copyright - The 5200 one is vastly different IIRC?
Tempest #4 Posted September 26, 2005 I've seen screenshots of both, but I'm not sure if the 1981 version was ever released. It definetly exists though. Tempest
birdie3 #5 Posted September 26, 2005 Does anyone know if there is an analog trak-ball A8 version of Centipede possibly converted from the 5200? I have seen the Sunmark 5200 cart.
Goochman #6 Posted September 26, 2005 Yeah - I have the 1981 version on disk - Im curious if anyone has an Atari manufactured cart of the 1981 version?
Tempest #7 Posted September 26, 2005 Yeah - I have the 1981 version on disk - Im curious if anyone has an Atari manufactured cart of the 1981 version? 938365[/snapback] I'd like to see that version. Does it differ from the 1982 version at all? Tempest
Goochman #8 Posted September 26, 2005 Checkout the HSC thread on it - it is apparently alot easier. Fandal got 999,999 on 1981 version and only 75K on the 1982 one. I will have to dig for it. Do you have a Flashcart from Atarimax? If so, download DarrensArcade image from their forum - it has the 1981 version on it.

The reason I want it is so I can review it for my site. Same with the Final Legacy betas I know are out there... Tempest

Im pretty sure the 2nd version did come out on the 8bits, altho both my copies were pirated back in the 80's so I couldnt say for sure. Believe it or not there was even another version called "Megalegs" which I had and it was pretty good too!
