My wife is an elementary school teacher and - somehow - the topic of old videogames came up in conversation during the lunch hour. She casually mentioned that I'm a 2600 collector and have dabbled with creating my own stuff (mostly hacks, as many of you are aware, but I'm now fighting through ASM programming).

 

Anyway, one of her co-workers mentioned that they have "a whole bag filled with old Atari stuff" in the attic. My wife gave her our number and said to call us if they locate it.

 

Anyway, yesterday, while I was out of the house (dammit), this lady called and said she found it. "There must be at least 100 or so games in here," she said.

 

So anyway, this lady is supposedly going to bring this bag in to my wife tommorrow and Chris will bring it home for me to paw through. I get to keep whatever I want that's in there - which will be everything, regardless of what it is. Don't know what's coming or what it'll cost me, but I see a big score coming pretty cheap tommorrow. I'll let you all know what I got. Wish me luck...

well its not 100 games but.... One of my friends came over today with an atari cart that he "found" under some vacuum cleaners or something in his attic.. Anyway, it was only a vanguard but the point is at least I know the word is out and oneday someone will find a 100 carts in their attic and he or she will say

"You know that guy we called weird for collecting these carts might like to have these"

Ugh. Dammit, dammit, dammit. The wife came home and told me the lady "forgot" to bring in the box -o- goodies. So I have to wait until Tuesday evening now. Crap, hell, darn.
