Crossbow last level

How do you get past the trap door on the Throne Room Screen in Cross bow. I dodge the hooks fallinf from the ceiling, and the fireball from the Imp, but I fall in that trap door every time!

I thought the objective was to fall in the trap door? Im pretty sure in the arcade game you did...And then this big head came out and you had to shoot the eyes out.

I've never made it to the final level of 2600's crossbow.. is the final boss in the vcs version also?

In the arcade you were supposed to fall through the trap door in the "Haunted House" level. I don't know how the 2600 version works, but in the arcade your guys would stop on the trap door and sit there until you shot the flame at the top of the demon statues staff. That would trigger the trap door to open.

 

After that you would go to the final boss which is a giant head. I don't know if this is in the 2600 version or not.

It's not. Once you shoot the staff and fall through the trap door, you start over again.

Well, there is no Haunted House or Giant Head to fight in the VCS version. If you fall through the floor, you end up back at the beginning of the game with one extra friend.

The 7800 version does have the big head at the end. Strange thing is that while the 7800 version graphics are blocky compared to the arcade...the last battle with the big head actually looks better on the 7800 than on the arcade.
