Now, does "I'm a Commie" mean i'm a C64 fan? Best select that one then, although i do program 6502 and have a working knowledge of the Atari's architecture too. =-)

Oh, and can you remove the sad face 'cos i'm very happy about being a C64 coder as well as being an Atari coder and just about anything else i can find with a nice video architecture and a 6502 variant. =-)

I kinda fit in the "A Basic programmer with good knowledge of Atari arquitecture" category, since the only programming I've ever done on the 8bits has been in BASIC (in mid-80s). But, because I've since learned 6502 assembly if/when I do any coding for the 8bits it will be in assembly.

Is it architecture or arquitecture? I've never sen that spelling, but maybe it's a programmer thing. I'm going to add a line for I'm a serious gamer but do not know much about programming since that is where I fall as do others who read this forum. ;-)

It's architecture, at least in US English.

Sure.. you can find more than 2 options to vote.

But, only vote for the first option (in order top to down) you find you correspond.

"I'm a gamer who does not know much about programming" is the option "I like Atari"...

Well, arquitecture is architecture... sorry ... I can't modify the post

Gotcha, I'll remove the new category, then.

I fixed it for you. I wasn't sure if that was a special spelling to define programming architecture vs building architecture since I saw everyone spelling it that way which is why I asked.

ok my vote was high level...

But I´m also coding ml. It depends on the project and the ram needed.

I often begin coding in QUICK and if the memory lacks - not hard in QUICK ;) - I use assembler.

If you did a 100% program in assembler then you must vote for the first option.

And don't forget to post here the QUICK ATR image ;)

I can't find it.

I have no iea how to program for the Atari, beyond what I remember from the 80's in my very basic BASIC days.. I do still have my systems though and play games... I was a game collector mostly, especially from Page 6 in the UK...

Does a distantly (like, pre-1990) ex-ASM coder with a formerly good but presently very spotty knowledge of 8-bit architecture count?

Of course I also love playing games on it, too. :)

if you create a 100% assembler program in 1979 with Atari 400/800 then count as the first option

Um... no... more like a grounding in BASIC, moving up to TurboBASIC, then pure assembler (MAC/65) by 1987/88 on a 130XE. (Though other than Oasis BBS modules, the only major project I was really involved in was a Tetris clone called Fortress written by myself and Jeff Lawton/Zark Wizard, though he ripped all credit to me out of the game when I switched to the ST in 1990 because he got pissed at me for "defecting")

In 1979 I was just discovering the wondrous glowing shapes underneath the glass top of a cocktail Asteroids machine.

Well, I chose the graphics&music apps option, but I also play games on it and use many other apps too. But most of my time is spent with games and graphic arts programs.

I made some good games for Atari back in the 80s - pity I couldn't keep any of 'em.

Are you sure you don't have archive somewhere in the cellar? It would be wonderful if you restore you game list.

Unless you've ever heard of Worms, Blockman or Party Peter (my names for the games) then I never saved them.

Most of the time i got my pawns in every langage for the A8 that i can find, however, lack of time and lack of will make coding a little difficult, i don't remember if i ever finished a project, many ideas however, and memories...

Good luck to everyone. Javier.
