ATARIPITBULL #2 Posted April 19, 2002 This is about the best I can do for you, I'm going to the show and I am buying as many bugs carts as I can but my atari boys here in michigan get first cracks at them. If you email me back on the monday after the show I can tell you if I have any left.
maximebeauvais #3 Posted April 19, 2002 hummmm, I don't know if we can buy more then 1 copy...... I'm sure that if yes, then you will see a lot of copy on ebay the next week!!! Anyway....
Snider-man #4 Posted April 19, 2002 Ugh, these "buy me a copy, buy me a copy" posts are beginning to wear thin. I'd bet cash money that it'll be a "one per customer" deal. Otherwise, the first 5 guys in line will buy them all then toss 'em up on eBay tommorrow. Secondly, if you think things are bad 'cause you can't get Bugs Bunny, you'll really crap yourself in August when CGE rolls around. Rumor has it there will be nearly *10* Atari 2600 releases there. I daresay you won't see anyone gettingmore than one there either.
ATARIPITBULL #5 Posted April 19, 2002 Are you guy's 100% sure that you can only buy one copy?
Snider-man #6 Posted April 20, 2002 Best you can probably hope for is that you buy one, get back in line, and hope they don't sell out before you get to the front of the line again. If they're selling more than one per customer, the first few dealers and vendors that get in line will snatch them all up and sell 'em on eBay or to us non-attending collectors for mucho dinero. What you'd like to do for those who can't make it is admirable....but highly unlikely. I'll be honestly surprised if you walk out with more than one. ATARIPITBULL #7 Posted April 20, 2002 Oh well, I will just give it a try and see what they will sell me.
AtariKen64 #8 Posted April 20, 2002 will the game have a 2nd run so more could buy it? limiting it to a convention just aint right. considerin the cost of travel youd be pretty much paying 100s or 1000s just to get one or two games...
Thomas Jentzsch #9 Posted April 20, 2002 Please calm down, we always have the same thread over and over with every convention release. There is no fair solution. The best you can ask for is, that they might reserve some copies for oversea collectors. You should directly contact the people of PhillyClassic. Atarian7 #10 Posted April 20, 2002 Do you have any copies of thrust or jammed for sale?
Snider-man #11 Posted April 20, 2002 Check here for Thrust. It's $25 and worth every penny: Hozer Video Xype Section And for my second point: quotewill the game have a 2nd run so more could buy it? limiting it to a convention just aint right. considerin the cost of travel youd be pretty much paying 100s or 1000s just to get one or two games... Boo-hoo. My heart bleeds for you. Because the homebrewer isn't willing to spend even THAT much more time assembling these things, you feel slighted. Well, I think it's unfair that no one will send me a round trip ticket to Paris. I've never see the Eifel Tower and it's unfair that only people in FRance have access to it. I find it unfair that some people have already seen the Spider-MAn film. What, I have to be famous or well-connected in the film community for a special preview? Hardly fair to those of us who aren't of the rich and beautiful Hollywood community. My point is, you're not going to get every new game that released at conventions or in limited release. Bitching about these facts makes it that much more unlikely that you'll ever see them. Using the "It ain't fair" arguement makes you sound like you're 7 years old and about to throw a tantrum. Sorry for hammering you, but we go through this every time a game is released in limited quanities and it's getting really old. If you want a "special release," get out there and buy one or ask the manufacturer if there's going to be a second run. If so, ask to be put on a list. Be polite, but accept the answers they give you with decorum. If there won't be a second run, shrug your shoulders and move on. You will never get everything you want due to circumstance and location. Deal with it.
AtariKen64 #12 Posted April 21, 2002 im not putting down homebrewers or thier efforts. and true it is first come first serve. you could say its not fair that my mom wouldnt letme join the atari club to get club only titles, or thats its not fair some atarians werent even born when certan games came out or that some people never got to live to see ertain things come out. but it does set a standard that new games come at a premium and part of that is the expense and time to go out to get it. i didnt neccesarily say that i wanted this game but it would always be nice. and i only asked about a 2nd run simply because I DIDNT KNOW if there was one or not. and that how you learn right by asking? hmm guess i learned nothing
